Seriously guys, did you give this one ANY thought? Bulkheads need a BOOST not a nerf. The fact that nobody, but NOBODY uses them should tell you this. Then let's have a look at the stats shall we?
In the dev blog you state that using bulkheads to structure tank is viable and can do so with less pg/cpu than armor tanking. The latter may be true but the former is entirely false. Let's look at a typical example of a dominix with either 1600mm plates, or bulkheads. Adding a 1600mm plate to a dominix gives you 48% more armor hp, compared to the 15% you get from a bulkhead. Then recall that armor can actually be repaired in the field; structure can not ( effectively ). Add to that the fact that even with a DCU II, you are going to have higher armor resists than structure, and you see why nobody uses reinforced bulkheads.
If you actually want structure tanking to be semi viable in pvp, then boost the reinforced bulkheads to 50% increase to structure hp, and someone, somewhere might actually use them some day; if you really would rather do without the speed and fitting penalties of an armor plate in exchange for the inability to repair in the field. Also adding remote hull repairers would be very helpful.

if you log on test server, you will know that you get free hull repair system lvl 5, cap hull repair system lvl 5 and bomb deployment lvl 5 for next patch.

Are you smoking *****? Not only does this have NOTHING to do with the subject of this thread, but the skills are only there on sisi for testing; you won't gain any more sp on tq when the patch is pushed.

What he was saying is to counter the claim that remote reps don't exist. They will at the same time this patch goes off. Although the purpose is to reactivate starbase structures, it will be usable on pilots afaik.

I noticed that, but my other points still stand. You get much more hp that is much easier to repair and with higher resists by fitting a plate instead of a bulkhead, so why are they being nerfed instead of boosted?

Can't say I'm a big fan of these 'pre-emptive' nerfs...

Only the first one gives 48%. The % amount you get from fitting another plate decreases.

First estimation, with Mechanic 5 that would give a Dominix with 1 Damage Control II and 6 50% Bulkheads around 95'000 structure HP with 60% resists on all damage types.
That is a bit much if you ask me.

Check your numbers. I tried a mega with 6 t2 reinforced bulkheads and DCU II. It had just over 35k structure hp. With the DCU II active it could tank approximately 85k unresisted damage.
Passive structure tanks are being used on bait ships in the game. POLL: Should I strap two fried eggs to my chest and become a centerfold model? |

What's your point? The same mega with t2 1600mm plates instead of bulkheads would have 39,801 armor which can realistically be repaired in combat and typically will have higher resists.
I'm fine with giving bulkheads a stacking penalty if 5 or 6 of them is better than plates, but one or two need to have SOME advantage over plates in SOME scenario to make them worth having in the game. As it is now, there is not one time where fitting a bulkhead might be a better idea than fitting a plate.
