ok i am a nube. i just started yesterday. i have a Imicus with 2 basic mineing lazers and two mineing drones. i have 300 K already what should i get to mine, and where should i mine please note i am a nube so like .9 1.0 or a .8. i am in the Cistuvaert reagion. Thx for the help.

navitas is a low-end gallente frigate. you should be able to fly it already. get rid of those basic mining lasers, get a set of "Mining Laser I"s. basic -anything- is rubbish.
mining in cist is not always a great idea, but it will do for now. Never jettison cargo, as there are plenty of thieves.
become active in the CAS Corporate Chat Channel, aka Corp Chat. these people are your guides through this vertical learning curve.
and of course, pay atention to your tutorial missions! you can redo them if there is uncertainty. in short, ask plenty of questions, then LISTEN to the answer.

If you can use Mining Laser II's then definately use them, anything with a II after its name is Tech 2, which means you need more skills to use that item, but it is much better than a Tech I.
One day I'll make a nice sig, the day I stop being terrible at photoshop...

Bantam is another race's mining frigate,it's generally thought as better then the rest....Caldari are like that =p
anyways if you can afford mining Laser II then go for it,also invest in some mining upgrades.

I used the Imicus last week also and fitted 2x Miner II on it, the light scout drones took care of the rats at belts.
I then trained up Gallente Destroyer I and get the Catalyst for 700kish. I use it for Lv.1 missions and mining. With 3x cargo expander I the cargo holds 468m¦. When I got more money from mining I then fitted 3x Gauss on it, either shield tank the rats, or 1x light drones took care of them. These are all either in hi sec or mission ores.
Yesterday I trained up Industrial I and got an Iteron for mission ore hauling. I jetcan 7x cans, carry the last 468 to dock, comes back with an indie to pick up the 7x jetcans. 35 mins = 10k+ of Pyroxeres. You really don't need the navitas. And I've just played for 2 weeks. Oh joining a Mining Guild (Corporation) also helped. Check the "recruit" channel.

If you are going to jetcan mine, use only one jetcan. Creates less of a hastle when you go to haul the ore away. If you really want to mine, and you created your character for the purpose of mining, it shouldnt be too hard to work towards a retriever. Once you get into a barge, mining really becomes a profitable endeavor. Might want to think of getting drone skill higher, its always a good plan to have drones V for any setup. Plus they allow you to defend the weak lower barges. Goodluck and stick with it
