Hai,
Having a bit of trouble finding out how to reduce the size of my c/cccp/eve map. Its currently somewhere around 1.5 gig. Kinda makes me wonder where all that data comes from considering the eve client download itself is only around 500-600 mb I think. Even after deleting most chatlogs cache etc, I only gain about 100 ish mb.

You do understand the installer contains compressed files right?
I doubt you can gain any more space, with 160GB+ being standard are you really worried about 1,500MB of space?

What?
My post was basicly saying a 1.5GB game is very small and you shouldn't worry about it.

Well since i dont know where you exactly installed eve online i will refer to the installation path with *.
You may want to check the following locations: */cache */capture */logs
Inside cache you can safely delete anything besides: - Settings folder and it's contents - prefs.ini - Browser folder (incase you use eve's ingame browser with bookmarks)
You can delete everything inside the capture folder safely incase you dont need your chat/game logs or screenshots made (preserve folders though, not sure if it could give problems otherwise).
Inside logs there is just 1 file, you can open this file with an text editor empty all contents inside this file and then safe or just delete the file and create a new txt file with the same name (probably safe to delete it as eve will probably recreate it anyway).
This affcourse is prior to revelations 2 launch in where the folders will be at an different location from then on for compatability towards vista.
Guide to fix eve problems. Cleanup your cache with my cache tool |
