Edited by: Astraal Forever on 14/06/2007 13:10:26 I've been watching before writing this on several topics which are related about existing fittings for ships. Yes, pretty cool, but 1 little tiny problem: are the CPU and powergrid supporting all those for everyone?! And not anybody wants exaclty those fittings. Someone looks over the topics and selects this/that/other one etc., but he still wants a change in his favor, but CPU and Powergrid are 'dead' (or maybe even his money, so when he gets the chance of trying it out he doesn't like it).
What do i want? --> I want to propose a program (on web/ingame or easiest - downloadable <separated from game>) which allows people to select any ship desired and fit it however they like, just for fun or for serious testing, pushing CPU, cap and power to limits(they won't be able to fit over CPU and power limits just for playing). They note the results on a paper and try fit their own ship ingame with what they've tested (and lol, of course they won't be able to test fittings on a battleship and apply it ingame on a frigate!). Maybe this is already existing... If yes, where? Agree or Disagree?
PS: I'm not a programmer, I can't do such a thing. If anybody thinks to do this, pls answer!

There's also the test server, where everything costs 100isk.
TBH I'm contemplating writing a Javascript-based quickfit, as the current one is a bit flakey, and the authors insist on breaking all your saved fits on every upgrade ,even the XML one which promised not to.

Edited by: Taipan Gedscho on 14/06/2007 14:38:44 i dont understand why this isnt possible in the fitting screen...
i mean i can grab every value from the db and calculate it myself, and sometimes this is so cumbersome, that i just buy bulks of modules, and test stuff, and sell the stuff that didnt work out as planned. actually it becomes a big part of my game.
i cba to use quickfit, which, imho sucks bigtime (sorry), and is even more cumbersome.
i totally vote for a "simulate module" option in the fitting screen so we can play around with dreamfits, in the "real" eve world. actually ... this is a friggin great idea! now support it ;)

Yeah, it's a good idea. It's probably be: (a) more accurate then quickfit (b) instantly updated whenever they change something (since it gets info from the original DB), so no hassles updating quickfit, your character XML, blah blah
