I'm just writing this post about Clan eshin because usually they get nothing but stick.
These guys are a good laugh, they keep to their word, and make mining in Umokka alot more fun than anywhere else. They also role play Eve which doesnt happen alot.
If anyone needs a good merc corp, look these guys up.

Isn't Clan Eshin a type of rat in Warhammer?
Confused roleplayers perhaps?

Also yes, and they have a nice stormvermin troops to break enemies defences.
I kinda prefer the Holy Knights, more "heavy metal". :P
Btw, nice to see some input on merc corps actions around here, it would be nice if we could get this kind of feed from other clients from the several merc corps around other thant the usual ones. _______________________

We declared war on them (4 man corp at the time) and they were, according to one of their members, under orders not to fight us. Biggest ship we saw undocked was a shuttle.
Great.

Most of the verbal abuse they get is in Umokka from the pilots in Umokka. They used to give my main some grief once in a while until the Hulk and tech II price drop allowed me to buy a hulk and fit it out with 17,000M3 of cargo space. No need to jetcan any more with that kind of room.

Actually clan Eshin is simply one of the more powerfull clans with a seat in the council of 13, as such they have clanrats, clans slaves and all the other stuff any other clan has. Actually the clan is small and weak the only thing lifting them to power is their speciallity and powerbase, the gutter runners, basicly ninja rats, runners that survive do indeed become assassins.
But enough of that...
So does Clan Eshin corp follow the time tried method of leadership and warfare? Leaders stay in the honored place at the rear so they can easilly and safelly escape when the troops rout? Is a fair fight one where you are 10 vs 1? Does a good portion of your losses come from killing your own to gain a combat advantage?
Just curious as Im a fan of Skaven :)

they are very powerful while working out of sight :) sneaky bastards..but in an open conflict they would loose badly. Clan Eshin = Ninjas!
oh and btw they dont have Clanrats....Eshin is differently structured, and you never read anything about Clan Eshin slaves...but this doesnt really matter as slaves are normal part of Skaven life :)

Their assassins are actually very powerfull, and i the last WH i loved to use Gutter Runners and Poisoned Wind Globadiers.
Their hit-and-run tactics have proven to be quite efective. _______________________

Yes that's fair enough, but still - orders not to engage? Why? You aren't going to kill any contracted targets sitting in a station. If you have a contract, shouldn't you be doing your best to fulfill it, even if it means engaging non-contracted targets?

Its actually rather simple...
ñNOTEñ this only applies to Eshin in warhammer, not in EvE ñNOTEñ
Eshin are militarilly weak however strategically strong.
Without an ally to keep them safe their will get wiped out fast but as their skills are so usefull everyone wants to be their friends :)

Edited by: Mariasha on 26/06/2007 18:32:16 To answer a few questions and try and confuse people (in the manner of typical Clan politics)
1 on 1 up to 10 on 1 is a fair fight. Indeed some Eshin have taken down some very big fish.
Eshin have their stamping ground. Tunnelling is used to great advantage.
Who knows why the Council pick the targets? The mere runners don't, that's for sure.
Big weapons, little weapons, it is all the same to us. We sometimes have to run away (and we are GOOD at that) but not always.
We like nets and things that frustrate and confuse people.
As for the ore - well, it helps pay for the new ship that we occasionally have to buy.
(No warpstone to mine though. Pyrox is a very poor alternative.)
Thankfully, most of us have leadership higher than 6.

First off let us put the record straight!
From what IÆve heard and experienced, this clan like to cut their teeth on miners and players who have usually only been playing eve from about 6 months or so. In other words theyÆre noob killers. Their current ransom rate is 100Mil ISK per corp member, which is a joke! They rarely enter low sec space where the real players are, and gate camp Umokka. Merc corpà Yeah right, more like space bullies that run when the guns are pointed at them.
Secondly;
Today they declared war on the Magog Protectorate; prepare to have a load of clan eshinÆs debris floating around gates ruvas/umokka and kaka/ruvas.
Scarlet Pimp you need to know something! IÆve been pushed into this war, so IÆm on my way from low sec today. We warned you about our resources and you failed to listen. So this is what youÆre up against.
200 Mil ISK Reward for Scarlet Pimp, as he dared challenge Magog and Rent, and 100 Mil ISK per clan member killed. This contract is open to anyone that wishes to take it on. This includes any Merc Corp and or Player. You may even join the Magog Protectorate and receive free battleships, t2 components and 50 Mil a week salary for simply killing the clan and locking them down so they cannot trade, mine or PvP.
Call out to OriPrimus û We need to borrow your mother ship and 2 carriers so we can jump clone from low sec to Umokka û Thanks.
End Transmission.

I'll probably regret replying to this but theres a few details that need correcting.
Our current target is not a bunch of 6 month old miners at all (they have 2 nice low sec POS if anyone is interested), granted all the experienced characters seem to be jumping ship (including Overlord) but thats not our concern
For those wondering why they cant find the war and wondering if Overlord is telling porkies - the vote hasn't even finished yet!
The original war started (as they usually are) over smack talk (just thought I'd mention that for TBears benefit mainly)
Our ransom rate is not 100mil per member at all (as any of our previous targets will tell you - references available) - no idea where you got that from.
Apparently you have to be in Overlords corp to claim the bounty in order to stop unscrupulous<sp?> types (like me I guess) claiming their own bounties with alts - but then if you get free stuff by being in his corp maybe that doesnt rule that option out after all
