Hi Peeps,
I thought I'd make a small contribution to the mining community
I got fed up of working out with a calculator what sort of mineral yield and hence ISK/Hour I can earn as a miner with my current skills/ship setup
So I cobbled this together last weekend and tarted it all up. It could do with a little refinement (which I may yet do) but if you find it useful, I'm pleased to have been of some small use
Kimo Sabi's Mining Workbook
It's a pretty simple mining worksheet allowing at a glance views of your potential earn rate given current skills/ship/miners

Here's a fixed link to his spreadsheet: http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/kimo/Kimo_Sabi's_Mining_Worksheet.zip
EDIT: Seems the apostrophe in the filename messes up the URL tag on this forum. Just cut and paste the URL above into your browser.

The drop down list in Ship Setup seem locked for some reason. Can't change anything there.

Edited by: Kimo Sabi on 15/06/2007 08:38:03 Strange, it works perfectly on my home and work machines
It needs macros enabled to work (it uses a windows combo box for the drop down rather than a range in a data validation list)
it was cobbled together with MS Excel XP (V10 I think?) looking into it now, I'll try and fix that link as well
EDIT: OK, you may need to lower your security level to make it work (macro security button on the security property page of options). I'll look at changing the setup selection so that it uses a data list and a lookup from there to work out the setup, not as neat as the other way, but less likely that security will cause any problems

Edited by: Kimo Sabi on 15/06/2007 09:37:01 OK, I've updated it to use a different method of drop down list (rather than the added control)
You should have no trouble now with macro security and the drop down list not working.
I've also adjusted the skill selection so you can only choose valid values
Edit: trying to replace the file on eve-files, allow me a moment to try and sort it

Edited by: Kimo Sabi on 25/06/2007 15:54:58 Thanks Pwett, I like your MMI - I use it for working my averages out
I've made some updates to it - now does Ice Mining and I've had to seperate out the Character and Gang stuff into a seperate worksheet, and yes, it now does extra gang stuff (woot!) - you can see what a difference it makes to get the Mining Foreman Link module bonuses(bonii?)
I've been using Halada's guide and got confused over the Mercoxit bonus - he shows an extra 37.5% bonus for mercoxit, I'm not sure that's right, can someone explain that?
I see in his equation 250(base yield) * 1.25(Mining V) * 1.25(Astro V) * 1.15(Mining Barge V) * 1.15(Exhumers V?) * 4(Skiff Bonus to mercoxit crystals?) * 1.375(No idea, Gang bonus perhaps?) * 1.05^2 (2xMLU) = 82 units of mercoxit per cycle
This is about the only equation I'm not sure about and not sure I've implemented right, I've no idea where that 1.375 comes in, but would recieve any input gladly.

I belive that is the adjustment for the Tech II mining crystal, but I don't have that info in front of me to confirm. |

Sadly no, the skiff gives a 60% bonus, per exhumer level, to the bonus of the mining crystal - at exhumer 5 that's a 300% bonus to base yield wth T2 crystal or 250% bonus on T1 - Add 1 and multiply, that's where the "4" in the equation comes from
