For old people like me, the number of *()^ing mouse clicks required to play this game can lead to repeptitve use injuries. That is, playing this game makes my wrist hurt. I know, I know, cry me a river. However, this is really about improving the user interface. There are many places where there are unnecessary click repetitions. If you can think of some more, please add to this list.
I'd like to be able to reload all weapons of a type with the same ammo. If I'm in a sniper BS, for instance. I don't want to right click, then left click, for a total of 16 clicks to put the same ammo in all my weapons. I'd like to be able to right click, left click once to select reload all new ammo, and left click once more to select the ammo type.
I wish the research/industry screen would at least retain my last used settings or default to the present station. If I'm researching BPOs at a POS, I have to continually select current solar system to get to the pos.
I wish I could start several identical jobs, regardless of type, in the first available slots. So, if I want to invent on 3 of the same BPCs with the same exemplar modules and/or decryptors, as long as the jobs are the same, I'd like to be able to highlight all the jobs, right click one, configure it, and have it launch them all in the first available slots. Similarly for modules that I'd like to manufacture 100 of. Similarly for trying to run copy jobs at a pos so I don't have to trudge through all the slots when it's quite clear that one is available.
I wish I could, from my wallet order interface right click for view market info to make it easier, faster, and less clicky, to see if I need to adjust pricing.
I wish mission information windows included the agent name and location.
I wish there was a way to switch locked targets from the keyboard.
I wish there was a way to make the overview not suck from the keyboard (gratuitious, I know, but who could resist?)
I'd get into the mining issue but that's not just user interface, there are game play mechanics. On the other hand, who cares if I auto eject ore into the nearest can. I doubt pirates would complain about the easier theft opportunities. While we're at it, how about auto hauler pickup, too. That would end all complaining about macroers since there would be no need for a macro. ha ha ha. OK: nevermind on this one.
I wish I could steer my ship with arrow keys or something other than hammering the mouse left clicky for crap response time and less-than-certain precision of direction.
I wish I could achieve the same effect as setting a waypoint, hitting warp to zero on a gate enroute, right clicking overview to set the gate as the first waypoint and then hitting auto pilot repeatedly without having to click all over the place to achieve such a simple feat. I understand that WTZ is for use by people who are at the kbd, butdo they have to be at the kbd and make 20 mouse clicks per jump? The alternative of WTZ, right click, left click to jump is hardly any more efficient or less clicky.
You should be able to set custom orbit or keep at range settings on the fly without the ridiculous steps required to accomplish that at present, clicky or not. ----
