Was just looking at my ship setups, and aside from my nos myrm, none of them (Retribution, Zealot, Absolution, Geddon) have nos fitted to them, even though most conventional setups fit one or more. Anyone else not fit nos to their megas, canes et al? How do you fair in today's nos-crazy universe?

I do not fit nos to most of my ships, including my eos, deimos, taranis, and ishkur. Not sure how well I would fare against nos unless in my cap injected eos, it would depend on my gang support.

If i have spare PG/CPU left i do fit nosf.
One of my geddon setups is even tinkered so i can fit one hvy nosf (energy algid something rig).

TBH, if there's one thing I don't leave home without anymore, it's a cap injector.

Well i'm gallente,a very cap hungry race...and everyone else fits nos...so i balance it out by fitting some of my own,alogn with a injector....I'd rather be fitting guns but...Guns don't fire when you have no cap so...

I try not to, unless I run out of turret slots, have everything else I want and have the PG/CPU to do so. The one exception is Thorax, since it has died a number of NOS-related deaths, I replaced one blaster with a NOS just so I can run my guns despite running into a NOSboat. 5 blasters on a cruiser are beautiful ... at least until they stop working.

I would love to fly without nos, but it just doesnt work that way.
I'm tired of dying to nos/jammer/damp bull**** combinations,
therefore, I will fit my own (well not on every ship but).

1 Nos 1 Smartbomb on me Tempest. Zero nos on me Maelstrom. Depends what im doing, usually dont make any setups with more than 2 nos, which usually just cancels out the 2 nos i have draining me

Even if NOS were to be nerfed, it's still one of few... no the only viable utility slot module for many ships. Smart bombs are junk if not large even large they are far from being hot. Or Missiles for those ships that actually have MHP fit them? Well they are just cheesy...

I fly gallante, and mostly don't have that extra high slot to spare. assist modules are usually better. Or smart bombs.

TBH NOS is the last thing I fit on my ship. The only exception is ships like the dominix. So if I have the PG/CPU left I squeeze on a NOS.
Although I always am cap injected :)

I never fit Nos. I collect scalps, so the utility slot on my Megathron is always taken with either a named, or faction large explosive smartbomb (it also nukes light, medium drones and interdictor bubbles very quickly)

Rarely, I fit for damage. On DPS ships I fit at most 1 Nos, but sometimes I'll fit 2 neuts.
Exception of course is the Arbitrator. Yes, I put guns on my Domis.

nos has it's advantages but ur absolutely right. with ships like the domi, especially with the introudction of PG rigs the domi can make one awesome blaster ship with the drone dmg on top of it.
i generally don't like the heavy nos/drone ships because a lot of killing goes on at gates these days so i'd much rather have the dps from guns.
most of my bs setups will have 1 heavy nos but not all. this is mainly to protect against a lone inty pilot or put strain on a vaga pilot or similar ship, not really to break the oppositions cap.
domi with 6 electron blaster II's and a mag stab II in the lows with a decent tank and the usual mids on top of the dmg done by t2 heavy drones is the sex.

I always try to avoid fitting nos to my ships where possible... but to be fair when other people are using 3 or 4 nos against you an injector only lasts so long, so sometimes I just can't avoid fitting them....its the thought that counts though :P

Nos is probably the most effective thing you can fit to a utility highslot, provided you have the grid/CPU to fit it. That being said, its usually more effective to fit a gun or missile launcher to a spare highslot, again provided you have the Grid/CPU and skills for it.
Also, nos is only really effective in solo engagements. Once your gang reaches 3 or more ships, fitting more damage so that targets go boom faster trumps nos every time.

My Ishkurs have a small NOS, my Ishtar has five Mediums, my Domis are NOS based, and my mission Raven has two. Other then that, I'm NOSless. My Myrmidon, Megathron, and Hyperion don't use NOS.
So, alittle over half the ships I normally fly fit NOS. Probably half since I rarely use a Raven.

That is so true.
I just hope they would ungimp some of the other high slot options and bring some more high slot options into the game, so that there would actually be other modules that would be worth an unbonused high slot...

I only fit NOS cos other people fit NOS, but otherwise, being a minni pilot, i'd fit launchers.

eh, use em on my geddon some , would rather save the powergrid though, as i use mega pulse so cant really fit without rcu... I use them with DHPs... but Im usually fit for gang support, so It doesnt matter....

I would love to not run nos but you always run into it. The only ship that doesn't have a nos right now is my thorax but I bring a lot of cap boosters to compensate.

I've toyed with the idea of a close support Rokh NOS boat for gate busting gangs. Its got the stats needed to mount a significant number of heavy NOS, which in the current scheme of things would REALLY ruin someone's day.

Hehe, that reminds me: back in the days of the nanocraze, I had setup a Nossaddon to deal with them. Never acutally got to use it in that capacity; it died nossing out a raider's Eos while getting shot by the rest of the enemy gang. Eos got killed, still

I think I unfourtunally fit a NOS on every ship I fly although I don't fit more than 1 on any of them. I always seem to end up with 1 odd slot and 1 NOS is nice because it means I can keep my tackling gear going even when at 0 cap.

I fly Minmatar and Gallente.
I dont fit nos on domi's, or megas, or myrmidons, or Ishkurs. Gallente are about firepower, wasting a ship bonus to fit a rack of nos instead is just plain ***.
As for Minmatar ships, once ive used up all the turret slots, if i have cpu and PG left sure, i'll throw a nos in, but 1, or even 2 nos, isnt really a battle breaker.
