Edited by: Upde on 16/06/2007 00:55:02 Ok so I saved my ISK up from running L2 missions for the past weeks and I am in the process of trying to load it out. CUrrently I am not able to fit many t2 parts as I am still in the process of getting the skills up to 4 so I can use the t2 mods where possible
I was thinking of oging with this set up to run L3 missions
Highs - 7 x Makulth Heavy Launcher I
Mids - 1 x M51 Iterative shield regenerator 2 x Invulnerability field I 3 x LSE I
Lows -
2 x Type D PDS 2 x SPR I
I was thinking I might be able to siwtch out one of the PDS for a BCS but I have this nasty feeling I need both PDS to get enough grid to load it out untill I train a few more skills up to level 4 in engineering. I have engineering at rank 5 but grid upgrades, management, systems opperation and all the shield related ones are only at 3.
edit.....
shield hp = 14630 with a 509sec recharge rate

Edited by: Rania Serlia on 16/06/2007 01:11:33 If you do nothing else, change to named LSEs. They're relatively cheap, and can be afforded after a couple L3 missions easily.
I also would go with a pair of mission specific hardeners instead of an invuln and a recharger(or use one invuln and one rat hardener).
Train for LSE II(and PDU/SPR II) ASAP

With regards to using specific hardners for different missions, is there a listing somehwere of what enemies do what damage so I know what ones to fitbefore I undock from the station ?

Please remember that on the 19th passive tanked Battlecruisers are getting nerfed, while an expensive t2/faction tank will still be quite possible, low tech tanks may be noticeably weaker. Just test it on the test server if you want to make sure, either that or be careful after the patch... worst case scenario is you have to fit an active tank, just don't spend too much isk on passively tanking it if it turns out its not viable for you after this patch.

Mission Linkie Try here.. I find it invaluable when missioning. Not all missions are there or complete on info... but it still gives you a solid base for determining what you need when facing off with your NPC opponents.

I used this for missions before moving into a Raven, worked like a charm for level 3s.
Highs: You know this part
Mids: 2 LSE 3 Rat specific hardners (2 primary damage / 1 secondary) and one afterburner (personal preference, I hate slowboating 70km to a gate).
Lows: 2 BCU, 2 SPRs
Rigs: 3 Core defense field purger, not essential but they're nice to have especially especially when you trigger full room aggro like in say... Massive attack. You'll know soon enough ;).
Drop your third LSE and drop the PDS for BCUs/SPRs as you see fit. Not sure what the M51 is but I'm guessing a recharger? Those are generally not worth using due to the bonus being small. Upgrade what you can to t2 when you can, train shield upgrades for t2 extenders and reduced extender grid use. Tactical Shield Manipulation for t2 hardeners. The plus side of the incoming nerf is that prices have dropped on the t2 gear.
As for rat damage types, there's a list somewhere bur after playing a while you'll know them by heart.
Your hardeners should look like this:
Blood Raiders: EM/EM/THERM Sansha's nation: EM/EM/THERM Guristas: KIN/KIN/THERM Serpentis: THERM/THERM/KIN Angels: Depends on the mission, they fire mostly explosive and kinetic but thermal and EM can be there as well , I usually go for EM/THERM/INVUL so I have no resist hole.
Caldari Mercenaries will fire EM/KIN at you, EoM KIN as for the other minor factions, you'll have to look it up .
