I recently got a friend interested into play EVE Online. Today he decided to check it out and downloaded the EVE Client from the eve-online website, twice he downloaded it, and twice the installation file was said to be corrupted. I recommended that he use a download manager, he used a download manager and again the file was corrupted. The message he gets is:
"The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete. This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus.//You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy.//It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch (NOT RECOMMENDED)"
Does anyone know if the file is actually corrupted, and if so is it a problem thats happening enroute from the networks to his hard drive, or if servers are hosting a bad EVE client. If anyone can help so that he might install the game on his pc it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I keep getting that error as well. Though when I reopen the program 10-15 times later it will start installing but then quit at some random point during the installation. Even if it gets all the way through the installation, the game crashes at random points, making it look like a graphics driver issue (discoloration, random yellow squares everywhere, system lockup and BSODs) Its quite annoying...

Well he created a petition, hopefully that'll get answered before long. Really wish he hadn't started a subscription before he had the game installed and working.

Although I can't comment on the technical aspects of the problem, I think your friend should wait to do character generation and the tutorial after Rev 2 has been released. And maybe give a few extra days for Rev 2 to settle in a bit.

Same problem here.
Not sure if its my end or the server end.

Ok. My friend got it working, so hopefully this works for y'all. It seems that the problem lay in the fact that he was using Firefox to initiate the download, he tried IE to download and completed the installation.
