We all know of this picture: http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/2496/evechartrmrsy2.jpg
And this one: http://www.garia.net/g6/eve_chart-4096.jpg http://www.eve-files.com/media/corp/CIGAR/eve_chart_names-4096.jpg
I was curious if someone could start a new one to include the new ships, and also the upgraded chimera model. It would be nice to have two versions. One with the ship names, and one without. It would also be good to have the file as big as possible so people so see the smaller ships as more then just dots.
So yeah, i just love that poster and think its a neat idea. Would love to see a new version. Ni4Ni Join Ni4Ni Today! Public Channel: Ni4Ni |

I think it would be really nice if the EvE ships could be added to Jeff Russel's Starship Dimension Chart too.
Would be awesome to compare the size of a Raven to a Bird of Pray or a Super Star Destroyer

Can you like undock and fraps a few seconds of spinning around your ship, zooming in/out, and with the engines on? And then youtube it? I'd like to see.

Wow, I'd have thought a titan would be quite a bit larger than that in comparison.

the only problem i have with that picture is there are no lenghts for the EvE ships. I.e. the super star destory from star wars is 17484 meters long. there is nothing to compare that with the eve ship. its not to scale.
need ship lenghts for eve ships please thankyoumuch

I believe it is to scale. I once did a rough calculation (using a 15cm ruler held up to my screen) with one of the aforementioned pictures that includes the Eiffel tower in it at the bottom left. By that I found Titans to be approximately 15 kilometres long, which seems about right in the picture you refer to.

No way its huge. From this chart its clear to see its mass is far bigger than even a super star destroyer.

Nice job and thank you for sharing it with us.
p.s. Just realised the Amarr titan is as big (approx) as the super star destroyer from starwars. ----------------------------

This is something I've been working on, I have the scale ratio's all sorted from garia.net, I was just after high res of the smaller ships to make it happen properly. So thanks OP for the CIGAR link :) gives me something to do during patch day lol
There's a comparison between the enterprise, a star destroyer and caldari ships here, and I'm happy that the SSD scales to the same length as was earlier posted, so I'm on the right track.

According to the links the Executor Class is about 17.5km long. And then beat the Death Star with 160km ;)

There's quite a collary of "official" lengths for the SSD, from 22km at the high end, to 8km at the low end. Jeff Russel's page seems quite well researched, so i'd still go with 17.5km
And as above, even if the SSD is longer, the avatar is a lot more voluminous, and even then the erebus is bigger.

Dont forget.. Mass is the true determining factor.. not length
Just remember.. Star wars ships will always win due to their firepower compared to EVE's.
8 high slots
vs
The Imperial II class has 50 heavy turbolaser batteries, 50 heavy turbolaser cannons, 20 ion cannons,
Star Wars has superior DPS

I, personally, don't understand why ships in EVE are limited to eight weapons...Super Star Destroyers have over a thousand weapons...a similar sized ship in EVE has eight...seems rediculous to me.
I understand that we're limited by the game, but immagine the USS Arazona with...eight really big guns...then some guy with a rifle on an intertube floats by and kills the crew. It's illogical.

Ok, imagine a fleet fight. 25 BS vs 25 BS, 50,000 guns firing. Cue instantaneous server-wide crash.

People arguing about the length of the Super Star Destroyer(s), keep in mind they come in several different lengths, EVEN THE EXECUTOR CLASS...
The poorly written guide (so it must have been directly from the hand of George Lucas then ) describes the Executor class as 8km. It's canonical length is currently regarded as 19km, even though recently it was ôofficiallyö 17.5km, so consider the source in that regard (George Lucas strikes again!).
Eclipse class SSD: 17.5km Sovereign SSD: 15km
Anyway thoughà SSDÆs (and their length) are not a perfect science, especially in the light that the person that conceived them is about as stable as a Jell-O mold in an earth quake.
