Edited by: VossKarr on 18/06/2007 08:26:29 I have the same problem now. I believe it caused by that stupid move of the cache and settings folders.

Petition is the wrong place for this. Please run logserver and write a bugreport under https://bugs.eve-online.com/.

Please try the following and reply here to let me know if it works or not.
Create a shortcut to EVE on your desktop and modify it to refer to: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe /end /LUA:OFF". Note the switches (/end and /LUA:OFF) are case sensitive.
Just right click the shortcut, select "properties" and edit the "target" field.
After you create this shortcut delete any cache/settings/capture etc folders located in the directory of your test client and also any located in \My Documents\EVE.
Then try launching the test client again, see if that works for you. ____________________________ I break things.

Your suggestions worked, thanks. It destroyed my settings on the test-client, but at least the client can now run.
However, I'd like to avoid losing my preferences/settings (major PITA to change back on 3 accounts) on the TQ client after I move to Rev II, hence the follow-up questions:
Should I also add "/end /LUA:OFF" command to my TQ client? Will that preserve my current settings?
Should I do this before I patch it to Revelations II or after?
Should I keep the command there permanently?
Or should I just allow CCP to migrate the settings and cache folders to their new locations, since there will be no mixup now that my test-client is sorted. Again, will this preserve my current prefs/settings? What do you recommend?

Edited by: Aelita on 20/06/2007 12:23:05 heh what a stupid idea to move all settings into one folder under "documents and settings". What I shall do with my three accounts when I need to keep separate configuration?
What happens when I run more than one client on same machine? I guess all my settings would be mixed up and wrong one will be saved when I end game.
I've my own copies of EVE for each client on removable HDD. I don't like have any copy of EVE on my local drive especially not in C: drive. I hope these switches would work in future EVE releases too.

Edited by: Imhothar Xarodit on 20/06/2007 14:13:01 When we're already at it, the /end /LUA:OFF switch does NOT work for captured files and hiszory.txt.
Please, fix this, I want ALL my EVE related files in one directory and not where Microsoft says they should be!
P.S: I'm talking about the Rev 2 TQ client.

I am currently running the same client for TQ/Sisi, due to not bothering to copy it over. It worked find doing it like that after rev 1. Now it takes about 5 minutes to open after the splash screen. Cant test if it actually works then due to it being closed atm.
