So I'll be taking an extended break for the final semester of college and my favorite little missile ***** will be going inactive. I am currently figuring out what to train on her and here are the stats followed by thoguhts:
Her Stats, via inEVE.net
My thoughts: Caldari Carrier V Will be able to come back to Level 5 missions and have a great arsenal at her disposal
Fighters V Would probably make more sense than Carrier V, so that's there
Caldari Dreadnought V A decent enough skill, though as I am more of a carebear is probably not as useful
Jump Drive Calibration V A standard support skill
Capital Shield Emissions Systems V Would this be more or less important than Carrier V?
Gallente Freighter V A good carebear skill, but I don't haul too much.
Caldari Titan V I can afford it, but like I said I'm more a carebear not a power player.
------ There is the chance that I'll reactivate her later just to sell her and buy a PVP character (Minnie AC spec probably, 'I wanna go fast!') so keep in mind choices that will make her own face as well as have some curb/sales appeal.
and.... Discuss!

Out of that lot for choice, I'd probably go for Caldari Carrier V.
That way you get an extra drone/fighter to control without the drone control unit, an extra 5% to shield resistances and an extra 50% bonus to energy and shield transfer range.
More from that one skill than most others you listed on a ship that is likely to be used in more circumstances than the others (depending on your play style of course).
Just my opinion of course.

She's missing a lot in the way of drone and logistics support skills. I'd train the jump drive, rather than starting with carriers - to really get value out of those you'd want to be able to deploy a variety of drones and/or to be able to make use of the logistics siege module that's coming out.

That is true; isn't it true that only the Fighter skill affects fighters, though? Or are you saying I will want to deploy Fighters & regular drones? I'm a bit unclear on why i would want regulars when I can have fighters sinec I was under the impression that fighters assigned to gangmates still counted towards your max control limit.
But I am a carebear so feel free to enlighten me. (Probably as defense against frig size and smaller, since Im pretty sure fighters pwn cruisers)

Just wanted to point out that if by "going inactive" you mean you are going to stop paying the subscription and still attempt to train, you can't do that anymore. At one point you could set a long skill to train and stop paying but they changed that a few patches ago.

I thought that too, but after a good look over those patch notes it says for the chinese server. I don't know if its changed then though, and I wouldn't exactly like to risk all that SP without absolutely knowing that it'll go without a paid subsription

I'm leaving regardless so might as well try. It worked when I left last time (or do you think I suffered through Capital Ships V on my own? )

I'd go with fighters 5. You could do logistics 5 unless you already have that one.
Drone Interfacing 5 is a good option too, especially if you ever intend on actually flying that carrier.
Otherwise, just train a random battleship skill to 5, Gallente BS 5 is popular. (Moros)

Currently training Drone Interfacing V, it'll be done before my sub is up. I've already got Caldari BS V and am trying to keep this character focused (unlike my other). I would love to do Recon V or Command V but I won't be able to get the prereqs before my time is up. I train all the Weapons and Ships very quickly so a BS V is 'only' about a month, hence my desire for the bigger skills, like titan and carrier V. I mean shes already got Dread IV
