Hello,
I just started playing EvE last week. I did the entire Tutorial and that helped immensely with learning the basics. I started doing missions and ended up with both a Condor and a Kestrel for free, which was a nice surprise! I didn't even realize I had the Kestrel until I was messing around in my "Assets" tab and saw it listed at a station, but that is besides the point.
I am having some trouble with fitting my Kestral. I have taken to using missiles and was excited about 4 missile Hardpoints, but the problem is that I do not have enough power to fit 4 launchers.
I might be able to fit 4 of them if I stripped my shield bootser and shield extender, but I am not sure if that would be a good idea. Is there a way that I can increase my Kestrel's power supply or a way to reduce the power requirements of a given item?
Granted, I am doing pretty well with my Kestrel with only 3 launchers, but I am greedy and would like to add that 4th one if I can. Any help would be appreciated!

First, if you are using Standard launchers, you may have problems. Kestrels are very successful firing rockets at high rates of fire. If you like standard launchers, maybe go for one rocket launcher in your final slot.
The Engineering skill will increase your powergrid output, and you will need to get it to V eventually anyways.
Finally, Power Diagnostic Systems are a low slot item that increase your powergrid, shield HP and recharge, and Cap HP and recharge. They are very popular among Caldari because they are low slot (doesn't affect our shield tank which is all mid), and helps with shields.

If you dont mind training weapons upgrades V is a VERY useful skill for caldari pilots and advanced weapons upgrades reduces power grid requirements for launchers, but you might want to do that later ^^.

You won't be able to get decent fits out of your ships until you get your Engineering and Electronics skills up. With both at 4 or 5, you can cram in 4 launchers. For a long while, though, you're going to have to deal with 2 or 3... but that will, with missile skills and maybe a ballistic control unit, give you the ability to fly around outside the range of other frigs and pound them with missiles.

Ah yeah, I forgot the Adv. Weapon Upgrades...that is a bit of training but you will want that eventually anyways also.
I recommend a PDU as the fastest solution to this problem, and it has other benefits as well.

Thank you all for the fast replies! I will begin working on my Engineering and Electronics skills.
On a side note, I have played a lot of MMOs over the years and I have yet to find one with such a helpful and friendly community. I wish I had starting playing EvE a lot sooner!

For new players 4 standards, small shield booster, cap rechargers, pds (aka pdu).
Get engineering and electronics to 4, upgrade to a caracal if you can. Don't stay in the frigate for too long. Cruiser will make your life a lot easier when new.
The way I did it was I got to the point where I can do level 3's with relative ease. I then trained all my learning skills (advanced learning to 4). After I was done with that I started working on getting tech 2 modules and got into a raven and did a good amount of level 4's to build up my wallet. From there on you can go for whatever you feel is necessary at that point in time.
Hope this helped.

Try to fit a Micro Auxiliary Power Core (+10 powergrid) in your lows, that mod will help you a lot to fit the fourth launcher :)
