I'm ashamed to admit how long I've been playing Eve without figuring this out, but what the heck is the difference between "sentinel" drones and scout drones? Do sentinels sit around and attack on their own, or something? Are they smarter than scouts (that would be nice)? Thank you for your indulgence.

You're right. I think. (My memory isn't the best...must have something to do with what I did in the 60s...but I don't remember what it was.)
So sentries are meant for guarding a particular spot? Once you release them, they just sit there? They don't follow your ship or anything? I can see where that would be handy for a miner, but do they have any use in more mobile combat?

THey're used by some mission runners in Domi's. With good skills they're outstanding in most situations.
You drop them. Get them going on a target and just watch your enemies disappear. When you're done, you put them back in the drone bay. The big problem is managing drone aggro. Phoenix Logistics Industries

With the introduction of T2 Sentry drones, the Sentry drone will have the most DPS out of all the drones. It goes
T1 Heavy < T1 Sentry < T2 Heavy < T2 Sentry.
Can't wait to try em out. ------------------- My opinions (ie, all of my posting here) are not my corporations. Nor should it be taken as such. |
