It just needs to happen. Keep it with the lore and skew it towards adults and I think you would have a very popular cartoon (I would watch it).
Thoughts?

Movie would be cool, but TV first to test the waters. I just think the whole thing is tailor made for a series.

Unless we're talking HBO, TV is where things that aren't good enough for the movies go. Nor can you really 'test the waters' with TV in order to get an idea about movie success. ----

I'm sure you were thinking of Samurai Jack or the Clone Wars series when you suggested this. The only way I see this working is if each episode is its own isolated story, with different characters each time, short little bits that fit into the EVE storyline as a whole.

What are you talking about? It cost far less to produce a pilot for a TV show than to try and make a full fledged movie. I'm not here to debate cost analysis, just agree or disagree about a TV show OR a movie and move along.

It would just be BSG with more mining 'roids and less real people.

Actually, the trailer made me think Robotech (but only because I love that series). I think the episodes could easily be linked by common characters. meh

Think of the short stories and chronicles as the type of source material you'd be looking for if you made this.

Genndy Tartakovsky FTW... Seriously, I didn't have high hopes for Clone Wars because of the art style (which left a couple of characters, namely Anakin - looking a bit... "Equine". Watching it proved me wrong. An EVE series from him might just... own.

Given to the right people, I'm certain a good TV-series or movie could come out of the world of EVE. I wouldn't mind a series, Star Trek needs some real competition ------ --Don't get saucy with me Bernaise!-- |

One of the things I love about EVE's environment is how it makes you feel like a little insignificant speck compared to the rest of the universe. There are trillions of people in the EVE universe, and only a tiny fraction of them ever do anything that's worth mentioning. This is why I think a "one episode, one story" format like The Twilight Zone and similar series would be best. That, and some of the more interesting things that happen to characters in EVE involve the way they die. You can do that with a single immortal character or group of characters adventuring their way across the galaxy. Make it dark!

Yeah I like the idea.
Babylon 5 was a great show, it just needed to be a bit more adult. EvE could be the ultimate sci-fi adult themed show ever.
There is so much scope and depth.

absolutely man. but i have to say that a cartoon about the normal people, who cant enjoy the dangers of space like a caldarian accountant or a matari slave etc. would also be very interesting.

Cant really I need a story...I have an idea but just reading some of teh suguestions reading what people have said about it being like the chronicals...I have chars done...a project like this needs support. Even my old animation team was a minimum of 6 most of the time wokring on animating sound scripts ect. Its harder doing it solo with a job and studies...
I cant prove im still working on it cos its sorta faded but I still have been doing little demos...not gonna show them...dont want my ideas stolen...but if any one wants to do somthign and can gvie me a script I would be more than happy to animate it.... -----

EVE would work as a movie i reckon.
With the backstories as script fodder and the general dark 'western' style feeling.
Well thats my opinion anyway, id go watch.
