I just downloaded the patch now when I start EVE it says I gotta reinstall the client :(
Any way around this? Really dont wanna reinstall because 1) im lazy and 2) dont wanna lose my settings and stuff and 3) im lazy

It's patch day. The servers are *scheduled* (please take note of that word) to come up at 2:00 Eve time, or about 4.5 hours from now.

That has nothing to do with my problem. I cant even get to the login screen, it says I have corrupt files because I downloaded the patch from their server

Why download the patch when the servers arent even up until 2:00 AM?

As far as I know the only place you could have got teh patch is teh Test Server and they have specifically said dont use that patch.
You will need to download the Client again prob make sure you wipe all your old folders if you do.

It's a CCP Darwin Award test. People who keep trying to connect all day get their installations busted.
What did you think you were going to do, find some secret back door in, mid patch, where you could go and buy candy and strippers in Jove space?
Just LEAVE THE EVE ICON ALONE and go and do something else until AT LEAST 2 A.M.

The patch is out now, open eve it will ask you to download.

I wasnt trying to log on, can you read? I was DOWNLOADING THE PATCH. I didnt attempt to log on.

... so you didn't "just download the patch" did you? Oh nonononono!
If it's any help you might get away with copying the cache, reinstalling, then copying the cache back. The cache might have moved under your "Documents and Settings" folder.

I opened it back up just to see the splash screen. I unistalled, downloaded eve_setup again and now even that wont work. gg

Here's what I'd try:
Keep your current installation as it is, to save risk of further damage.
Install new Eve client to new folder, say "Eve2"
Patch as needed
See if it works
Copy important parts of cache to new installation (*)
See if it still works
(*) Search for Dark Shakiri's thread on RAM Drive caching which will tell you the important files you'll be wanting to copy.
I don't mean to get ****ed off with you mate, and was over sarcastic, it's aimed at everyone who is opening their Christmas presents on Christmas Eve!

I had this once and I later redownloaded and reinstalled just the patch. Something had corrupted last time I downloaded it and it fixed it second time around.
Not this patch mind.
