Overloaded Stasis Webifiers can be activated at 13km now, with Domination ones reaching up to 19.5km. Going in close can result now can result in the loss of your ship.
Also, re-asses which targets one can now engage. Since you have to be a few km further away from your target in order to control range, the DPS decrease (due to being further out in falloff) is significant enough that it will be much more difficult to break the tanks of ships.
Minmatar/frigates have been nerfed in Revelations II. You have been warned.

So who wants to test how many cycles before that expensive webifier goes *pop* and you are defenseless until you can refit at a station? -----

Except you only need 1 or 2 cycles to get within normal webbing range, at which point you then turn off the overheating. While modules do get destroyed fairly quickly overheating, 1/2 cycles is very far within the safety zone.

The opposing ship webs you and is MWD'ing towards you. There is not a chance that you will have enough speed to get outside of web range, overloaded MWD or not, when your total speed is reduced by 90% while theirs is 1.5-2.5km/s unless your unwebbed MWD speed is higher than theirs x10.
Not going to happen.

well then I'll web back
um plus overloading there web is going to dodmg to there MWD
or maybe I'll just not get in 20 km range
or I'll run nos and drain them so the web stops I'll overload the nos
I'll tracking disrupt them I'll nuet them
I'll warp away
Ill trust in my fleet to back me up
I'll web back while MWDing away with the rack overheating jsut for the chance to get away
the MWD overload is about a 100% increase
and if I lose ym 200k ship the I'll cry and buy another

The upside is that vagabonds and similar ships will be cheap once they start popping or people realize the crappy dps they get with them.
Winners? Missile and drone kiting boats.

And, naturally, Minmatar get the shaft AGAIN. Why not simply erase the ******* from the game and be done with it. **** that. The ONLY thing that matari had - speed - has been taken away.

That's my understanding too. It does, however, not matter. You only have to get an an overheat cycle and the prey is in your regular webbing range for joyful dismemberment. Thus, people will fly away the extra range added by overheat, which will impact their dps.

You dont lose 90% speed instantly, theres plenty of time to double click in a random direction and get out of range.

it's far from random, you have to click in the direction you're going (compensating for lag) otherwise your ship will slow down to turn and won't pick up speed again. ---

Well, I wouldn't call 1-2 seconds plenty of time (remember, the webbing player is MWD'ing towards you) in conjunction with the lag/delay normally experienced in EVE. Can be difficult to accomplish in practice.
Essentially, the overheating webs change negatively impacts on:
Wolf (Fights in web range now) Saber (Fights in web range now) Stabber (No falloff bonus, terrible DPS) Hurricane (No falloff bonus, poor DPS. Also much more difficult to beat Myrms) Vagabond (Significant DPS drop) Sleipnir (Significant DPS drop)

you need to have him within webbrange and webbed before the bonus is activated

I wouldn't say SOME setups as the majority of these ships are geared to fighting with ACs with their speed/falloff bonuses; and I'm only talking about such setups. Artillery fits are not affected, nor are in your face slug-match style AC boats. Keeping range and working in falloff is what has changed.

Thread A: Heat is useless, not going to train it! Thread B: Energy Management V is too high! I'm not going to train it! Thread C: I'm not using heat, it destroys my uber modules! Thread D: OMG! Heat nerfed these ships! The sky is falling!
Oh the irony.
The warning is good, people need to realise it's now possible to extend the range of webbers. Saying the ships are nerfed or useless is a bit much. The changes haven't even been live for 24 hours.
