Hi there..
I would like to see Workarounds or Fixes to
* Keep my different EVE accounts' settings seperated. * Keep all my EVE related data on my fast expensive 'games' disk drive, away from my slow overloaded system disk drive, especially log files, but preferably for all files.
I've set a long skill on each of my chars...

This can be found in the patch notes.
Quote: Client Changes Changes to user settings, capture and logs :
In Windows XP & Windows 2000: * User Settings : C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE * Capture and logs: C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\My Documents\EVE
In Windows Vista : * User settings : C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE * Capture and logs: C:\Users\%user%\Documents\EVE
This can be reset to the pre-Revelations II location by adding: "/end /LUA:OFF" after the "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" target in the target box in your shortcut. After this adjustment, settings and data are saved as they were saved pre-Revelations II. The shortcut should appear aS follows: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF
Unfortunatly not everything seem to work when you use that command. Raindrop

I forgot to add the following
I would like to see a Workaround or Fix to
* Allow me to safely run MORE THAN ONE client on my PC at the SAME TIME.
Let's hope there is a moderatly simple solution to this ...

Have a look here for a workaround ! This might help to separate two eve-installs too if you tweak the batch files a little.

It probably won't as it just routes Windows actions from one location to the other. Raindrop

A fellow Corp Member provided me with the vital clue to solving this problem - he suggested that I force the client to use another windows user account in the shortcut.
Here's how it works.
Under control panel create as many new user accounts as you have eve clients or characters that you wich to keep seperate. Make sure these have full privilages and passwords.
Right click on your shortcut to your copy of EVE and do properties.
Now, click the advanced button. and put a tick in the 'run with different credentials' box. Do OK and Apply. Do this for each client's shortcut.
This forces the client to ask you if you want to run it as a different user, and will store the client's files under that user's data locations as determined by Windows, and as intended by the developers.
If you wish to have all your EVE related stuff in one place - such as on a fast storage device you will have to do the following.
Logon to the user account that you have just created. Do Start and then right click on 'My Documents'. Do properties, then Move. Point this to your chosen place, creating new folders if you so wish. Do OK and Apply and stuff, you do not need to move over any documents, you shouldn't have any yet.
This forces the my documents folder to write data onto your chosen place.
Also right click on your shortcut to your eve client and add the text
/end /LUA:OFF
After the shortcut path so it looks like this
A:\drive\somewhereonmycomputer\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF
Where I've made up some of the path.
This forces the client to keep it's settings in local folders.
Now everything is cool

Glad you got this working as you would not log in until a solution was found.
Thanks to our unnamed corp mate who suggested this fix

just set your system date to the correct date. seems if your system date/time is to far away from server time / date of your cacheed files all settings be reseted because they are out of date.
