"The client's local session information is corrupt, probably as a result of failed cleanup during a disconnect. Connecting to the server in this state could lead to a rather unpleasant game experience. Please restart the client prior to logging in."
After a complete virus check, spyware check, rootkit check, clearing out all other crap. running windows update, and all hardware updates available installed, Plus uninstalling Eve and picking out The leftovers, followed by a system defrag ....
then downloading the whole Rev" client 3 times ! I STILL get this dam message EVERY time I try to login!!!
Dam I'M Angry GRRRRRRRRRaaaaaaaa

Edited by: Kraven Kor on 20/06/2007 15:02:41 Did you clear the EVE cache folder? Delete everything there except prefs.ini and the settings folder. Worth a try if you didn't already do this.
I reread your post, and in no way does it clearly state you deleted everything but the settings folder and prefs.ini
Did you do the move trick for your cache folder, or did you let the update move it to the two new locations? Have you cleared the data from these new folders, or from the old folder?
Might want to post the contents of the "new" cache folders and compare those with someone else? I'm at work so no access to said folders myself, sorry. ----- You're not what you are, you're just what you do! So it ends with their butts and it starts with your shoe! - Awesome Car Fun Maker |

I use Vista, and it worked fine for me, even prior to rev2.
have you tried petitioning a GM? you can do so from the site. www.eve-online.com check support, and then create new petition.
if the devs don't know, you will never play eve again.
I asked the devs a techy question once and got the best Customer service responceIve ever had from an IT company. Not the normal stuff like: check if you have eve installed. check if you have internet connection. grown up Customer service. it was quite good.

Your first post doesn't state whether you're completely cleaning out the folders in the new cache location. Are you?

I read your post, but you seem unaware of the changes to the cache dir with rev2.
Uninstalling eve does not seem to remove the cache folders from its new location (Just tested it), so chances are, if you look C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE youll find stuff.
delete that stuff.

I did see This mentioned in the notes.
"If the user choses to revert to this storage format, the shortcut needs to be modified to refer to: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe /end /LUA:OFF". Note the switches (/end and /LUA:OFF) are case sensitive. "
Not quite sure how to do it though ... would love to know how

Right click on your desktop shortcut icon, select properties. Under the "shortcut" tab, you will see "target" which will have for example D:\EVE\eve.exe (this is the path to where eve is installed). What you have to do is put turn it into: "D:\EVE\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF (note the spacing an case-sensivity) and click "apply"

keep the spacings. I believe I had inadvertently cpied/pasted it such that the ending was eve.exe/end instead of eve.exe /end, and IIRC, that threw up the Invalid Target error as well.

My eve location is here "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe"
have tryed the following diferent modifications.
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe/end/LUA:OFF" "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe /end /LUA:OFF"
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe"/end/LUA:OFF "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF

I really don't know what to say then. I'm sure that having the /end /LUA:OFF will fix your local session error, but I got no clue as to the cause of the Invalid Target Error.
Dark Shikari, are you with us? Can you help this poor fellow with you technogagetdry skills?
