Driver roll back did not help the problem but thanks for the offer.
The problem causes my PC to reboot everytime I load Eve so I do not think manually rebooting it will be any different.
If there are any GM's on can you please end any missions Calvoor is on and dock me in a station in Nahyeen please I am unable to log in and set a petition.
It seems I may need to uninstall Eve and download it again!!!! I would rather not do this but I may have no choice this seems to be a serious error that is only affecting Eve all other programmes etc are fine.

could you not login to your acct from a friend's PC?
~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |
I encountered a problem like this a while back. Once they got to my petition they had me run dxdiag and save the results. Oddly enough it ended up one of my drivers wasn't signed...once I fixed that the system worked like a charm. I'm not saying that will fix it, but it is definitely worth looking at. Also if you can't log in to file a petition you can file one under Eve Support instead of the forum. Better response time. :)
First, I suggest you try reinstalling the game.
If that doesn't fix it, then create another character on the same account and petition the problem from that character.
I am Gallente flying Caldari I have no friends :) no seriously I have no friends locally that play Eve unfortunately.
Everything was fine until I started this mission its very strange but also unnerving everytime the PC reboots and you get the Microsoft window that says your PC has just recovered from a serious error.
What point in loggin in are you crashing? Is it when you start the client up, or is it actually when you're entering space? If it's entering space, I've had a similar situation where some graphic or sound was corrupted and caused the game to crash badly whenever it was present. My solution was a simple reinstall, but it can take a while so maybe not your first option. Do you have access to another computer that you can run EVE On to try and log in and move the character?
If you decide to reinstall, make sure you save your pefs file so you don't have to reconfig the client again from scratch.
I log on in space, the ship warps to the mission start, comes out of warp and system crashes
Then yes it sounds like something specific to the mission is corrupt and causing the crash. Best advice is to reinstall from a fresh copy of EVE if that isn't a problem for you. If you don't want to do the download again you could try from whatever the last client download you had was and patch up to it.
Checked CPU Temp ? dont know where you live, but a while ago i had a similar problem, that was just the dust in the cooling fins....
Otherwise i would think that you should reroll all drivers.
Edited by: Haradgrim on 20/06/2007 19:26:48 If you have Realtek HD audio drivers you are experiencing a known and very annoying issue.
The answer is to add the line "audio=0" to your prefs.ini file (this will disable audio) or lower you audio hardware acceleration to basic or none in the "dxdiag" tool/ui.
you can find more information about the issue at:Realtek driver issue thread
if that doesnt fix it then you are experiencing a different bug with the same symptoms.
edit: forgot to mention: I realize you said your sound is off, the patch turned it back on for everyone (or atleast for me).
Oooh, not good. 9 times out of 10, that serious error is hardware malfunction. There is a ton of things to check, but first, I would run another video game and see if you reboot. Something similar to eve in as in an mmorpg.
That cute blue screen, in my experience, has been either sound (set your system to TWO speaker mode, no EAX special settings... EVE does not do quad sound... or didn't, until now), or, a corrupt file in cache.
Eve seems to be real good at corrupting files in the machonet cache. Run chkdsk on your system, to fix the corrupt files, and it'll stop rebooting. And also run faster, a bit.
Well the GM's moved me back to a station and I quit the mission and everything is now fine. I have continued with other missions with no problems but I would recommend that you do not accept the "Eliminate the Pirate Campers" at present at this is the one that caused the problems.
Thanks for all your suggestions and ideas at least it dod not have to reinstall
Glad your problem has now been resolved.
Please remember to file a petition rather than post on forums as GM's are generally too busy helping players to read the forums
Kind regards
