Hello,
Having taken a break from Eve for a few months I have resubscribed and performed a clean install of Eve on my pc running Vista 32bit with an 8800GTS and 2GB RAM.
FPS in the system when I log in is 240ish in station and well over 100 in space. However with each jump that seems to roughly halve and within a short amount of time I'm running around 5
If I quit Eve and relaunch it resets back to the original high performance. I seem to remember there being a spate of complaints about this a year or so ago and then it disappeared, and I suffered it then on my xp machine too but a patch seemed to fix it?
Anyone know what causes this or how to solve it? I'm not gonna be back long with something as annoying as this
(Other than that, it feels good to be back btw )

I remember they had this bug before, but fixed it... looks like you still have it then.

I'm sure that description of the solution you just provided will help him out a lot. :D

Well at least it's keeping the post nicely near the top where someone who actually has a solution or idea might see it and reply

I think the fact that the patch notes say they are getting ready to fully support vista pretty much means any vista problems people currently have just have to deal with it.
Go Vista!

I think I found your problem.
(PS: Vista is a piece of trash. It's like Windows ME all over again.)
