dont you hate the trade channel especially the way it works. You have to have eagle eyes to spot anything useful on that channel dont you no sooner than you log onto it than you are bombarded by up to 10 messages a second all of variouse lengths some so long that it fills the screen how are we to handle that. Personally i think there should be a system simillar to the one found in neocron where you post your advert on a forum board, then any customers looking for a new harvester mining drone could go to the trade forum and look under the ship equitment room and look through the adverts posted there. You of course cant add any messages to these forums unless you posted it. This way is a much more understanderble way of finding what you want and it will eliminate most of the spamming you get on that channel as you only have to post it once.

Check out the escrow tab under on missions screen. This might be more your style rather than the trade spamfest..

What we really need is someone keeping an eye on the trade channel ... cut out the 50-line ads selling one item, people flaming each other for no good reason, other people begging for cash etc. etc.
But that costs resources, which CCP don't seem to have a huge quantity of.

I tried making a replacment "trade" thing, it started out good then it seemed people lost interest in it.

A quick and easy solution could be to setup the channel so that u can only post every minute or so, and have a limit to how much u can post at once.
Admitedly the ideal solution would be to have a polaris moderator in the channel 27/7 but thats just not going to happen.

Then just push the old Rt/Clk BLOCK on them. That seems the only way now to get rid of those type of ads where the poster thinks they have to format the text and create a look/feel to their post. I don't know why formatting characters are allowed in the chat forum, but somehow it is. That alone would get rid of many of those multi-line posts.

As far as I remember the Trade channel, wasn't "designed" per se but rather just happened...it has a life of its own now and you all know how hard it is to teach an old dog to sit.

If you can't find the Block option, I suggest you stay far, far away from Trade.
It's like a TV... plenty of channels, but hardly anything worth watching.

why dont you al start to use the under channels like minerals where you buy and sell minerals..
and i know there is one for implants but i cant remeber the name :P if everyone that knows what they want and what they need to sell there wont be as mutch spam in the diffrent trade channels...

Escrow would only work if it had a moderator, like some polaris guys.
its seriously sucks at the moment, and i thought there was ment to be a SCC to moniter stufflike that.
there is so much misrepresention of goods it hardly make siften through it worthwhile.
Trade channel IS a joke at the moment, every 3rd add is imported Formated text causing chat bug. making watching trade a slide show of spam/blank. |

Huh? How can you misrepresent the items when you can click on the items to see what your buying.
