I read in a post in this section a few days back making reference to another post that had a list of skills that every new player to Eve should train, after learning skills ofcourse. I was wondering if anyone knew if such a post did exist, or if they could themselves suggest skills a new pilot should train regardless of what they want to do in Eve.

Edited by: Lynal on 20/06/2007 20:49:31 there are skills that help you no matter what you fly.
hull upgrades - more armor mechanic - more structure navigation - faster warp drive ops - easier warping spaceship command - faster warp alignment shield management - more shields shield ops - faster shield regen energy sys ops - faster cap regen energy management - more cap
those are the ones i can think of off the top of my head that would be helpful no matter what you fly. the higher you train them the better.

Engineering 5 and Electronics 5 are also must haves for every one who flies a ship. Unless you fly only freighters. ;-) That gives you 25% more cpu and pg, which lets you fit more of whatever you need.
Once you have skills that help every ship you could fly, then its time to look at skills you need for what you want to fly, and then skills that support that ship. Say you'd like to fly a specific BS . . . you're better off getting a skill like advanced weapon upgrades than large pulse spec, because the awu will improve your ability to fit turrets *and* launchers, on any ship you fly. The large pulse spec will help you only when you're flying BS sized ships, with that sort of turret fitted.
Start out on the skills that help all your ships, then specialize when you've got that part mostly sorted out.

You might also want Cybernetics I (ASAP0, then Cybernetics IV. The first one, for implants up to +3s (easy to get in LP shop nowadays), the second one for some of the better hardwirings around in the LP shop. _ New char creation guide | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |
