Hey folks, a few friends of mine and I just started playing Eve together, and they've elected me to be the CEO of the corporation we create. We plan on spending a large portion of this weekend plotting and planning how we will set up/organize/expand our corporation via ventrilo, but frankly, I have no idea where to begin. Any guides, advice, or support you all would like to give would be very much appreciated, I've done alot of reading myself on management, skills required, the production of POSs and outposts, all of which we would like to participate in, but sadly, 5 of us cannot complete all these challenges on our own.
Here are some of my current questions:
Where is the best place to locate a headquarters? What security level, location etc., currently ours is located in the Jita system of the forge which seems to be the most popular place in the universe (Lol)
About how many people are needed in order to have a fully functioning corporations, and about how many are needed to complete all of the things corporations do?
What DO corporations DO? - I understand that the corporations goal is to gain power, make a profit, protect one another and so forth, but how might I go about doing those things, how does a corporation create a profit other then a small-time mining system?
What is the stock system in this game? Where can one buy shares to a corporation?
How does a corporation go about manufacturing goods? What skills and offices are required and what would be a good thing to start on?
How the hell do PO gates, or whatever those things that like stations are, work? And where an I place them etc.
What all do I need to do as the CEO of the corporation, and how can I gain more members to the corporation?
When and why are alliances necessary?
And most of all, where do I BEGIN? And where do I go from there?
Thanks alot for your help guys, any advice as well as the answers to all of those questions would be GREATLY appreciated.

I only started jotting ideas about this down a few hours ago, so keep an eye on it as it grows. And yeah, better off asking around for info in other places. Even though this one might initially seem the best place for this discussion, the CAOD long ago became a place for people to wave their epeens and little more.
Hope you find some good advice out there mate.
I know I'm posting with an alt mods, sorry. Delete if you absolutely must. My main can't be linked to the author of the post I linked, so yeah...
