Ok so I played about a year and a half, and I found myself not knowing where to go in game, so i went on a break, just updating skills, 2 months or so pass and here i am today still trying to find a reason to play (been playing dungeon runners the last couple weeks) a extremely simple relaxing game, and then it hit me.
what EVE's biggest problem is and its problem is also its greatest feature m Its so damn complicated and stressful, playing eve has started feeling like work and its stoped being fun, there is nothing casual to do in eve everything involves large commitments of time and effort.
I just wish there was something in the game that was more casual and simple , something easily enjoyed by people who want to play for 20 min here or there etc etc.
I guess I will keep breaking till i run out of isk and cant buy anymore GTC's i guess at that point if i dont start playing andmaking money again i wont ever come back, i hope something changes either with me or the game so that doesnt happen.

Eve is about playermade content.
So think of a new goal you want to acchieve and go do it. Make and take your own objectives. Go fly, fight and do missions in pirate npc 0.0.

Any game that ceases to be fun to play becomes work, when you hit that point in any game its just time to move on do something else, who knows maybe in a year you will get that itch again.

Go play another game for a long, long time.
I did it with FFXI and WoW for about 3 1/2 years, and came back here. CCP would pretty much have to dump napalm in the servers to get rid of me now.

Sure there is - ore theft & griefing are about as casual as it comes and require little or no skill training.

If you cant find a motivation for this game to play why are you trying so hard to play it?
I dont get this.
EVE is a slow working game, I love it for 4 years now and still not bored with it.
Try to find another game instead and stop trying to find something to do in EVE. Its a wast of money when you only play this game by logging in to change a skill.

My solution was to return closer to empire space and get into contracts and missions.
I was gone for a while and what I missed was missions. And now with contracts actually being used, I make a faor bit of isk.
So during the day I run deliveries (while working) just for kicks. In the evening I run missions. Then on weekends I get out of empire space and do whatever.
My main is not an uber character, but he's no newb either. Been around since release- I just keep an open mind, stay out of politics, and put out bounties on those who have podded me.
It's fun- and still not too involved.

May I suggest suiciding barges in high sec. 5 minutes to buy and fit your ship of choice. 3.126 seconds to find a target. Not many more seconds to blow it up. 15 minutes of cooldown and smak.
Repeat if you want, or go ratting to get your sec status up again.

Well, if you haven't found a reason to play a game in two months, why continue? 
You wouldn't watch a box of grand theft auto for two months and think "Hmm, should i play? And if i do, what should i do?"
It's quite simple and clear that this game, isn't for you. And i mean that in a non flamitory way.
So yeah, i have a problem with being serious, but it's the almost smallest problem i have. |

Hiya Kass I was in a corp with you for a bit and took a break, I came back and got into the 0.0 aspect of the game more, also PvP more. Not sure if you are mostly missioning yet or what but try a different way than the one's you have and I hope you can get what ya want. Later brother. |

I very much have had the same feelings.
However, I took a 4 or 5 month break!.. I wanted to wait until the next expansion etc.. so here I am for Rev2!
But I know what my problem is!.. I need a corp. I been soloing for a long time, off and on eve but never really commited to it. I know if I can find a good corp with some 0.0 access and PVP! then Im sure a whole world of eve will open up before me.
The only problem is I have a few good friends who have played eve for years, and spend most of their time in 0.0 pvp corps.. but they also seem bored :(
so its like this.. Im getting bored,.. and know that whatever I do to stave off the bordom, I will eventually be bored again!... but thats probably when I would try forming my own corp!..
But no matter how bored eve players get.. they always come back!.. I think eve is a long long long term game, not like those mmo's whereby once you cancel your subscription you never go back to it.

Depends what you're interested in doing, what you haven't tried yet and how much time you want to spend finding out what things there are to do and then getting on with it.
Been in the game nearly four years on and off. Rarely pvp'd but since I have started, I enjoy being able to build what I use cheaper than most combat orientated pilots.
I'm checking out the invention route and planning from there, while also making sure I get the adrenaline rush of pvp. I'm sure eventually I'll come off as survivor eventually but rarely in a ratting set up :p
Find people to gang with go out to 0.0 and kill something, or even just harrass people. Making people mad can be fun sometimes. Avoid alliance politics where possible and try to remember why you had fun in the first place.

well the way i see it, most mmorpg are the same basics.
kill npc's get money and item.
do missions/quests, kill npc's get a reward. delever or find some stupid paper, get reward.
collect flowers or rocks, and fend off npc's that guard it.
build things from your collected materials.
sell the things in a market or ah.
now the fun part, pvp.
meet your enemy, 1-1 1-2 2-2 1-10. or even fleet war. 200+-200+ "this is here eve shines"
and the fact that eve get your hearth pumping in pvp. never had the fun before..
its all about the other players, and the universe. space, sci-fi on a planet, or go back in the days and kill big dragons?. eve has what all other games has. but still seem to be fun for me. the players are much more mature than other game, the training is better than other games, not just power level to something.

i wouldnt bother coming back m8, the LAG makes this game seriously unplayable.
ccp add more features rather than fixing the game. my subby runs out in 6 months, we'll see if i renew........

the only reason you and many people play is because you can buy gtc with isk and to grief everyone else.

Im having the same problem - the thing to remember is that *you* are in control of your playstyle, not the big "go AFK and die" corps. Ive quit to a n00b corp to just chill out soloing missions with a new agent. Dont quit a game you love caus you'll be back again 2 months later wondering why you cant get back into it, no one likes having their free time allocated to other peoples goals.

I got into a bit of a rut too. Just back from a break, and I've decided for now that I'm going to kill time by training to fly EVERY ship that can be flown in empire. Then I'm aiming to train to fit each of those ships to it's maximum potential.
That should take me a few months, and I'm going to support it by running a few missions, and filling a few gaps I've found in the market.
After that.......who knows?

I don't have lag and yes I pass through Jita/Saila and such alot.. and why do we care about your sub.
