At the moment i'm pretty busy with school and stuff, which means i can only play EVE for a maximum of 10 hours a week, if that.
I was saving up for a desktop already anyway, but i started thinking a laptop would be much better in my current position, seeing as i'll be running about like a blue arsed fly for the next few months. My question is, is there anyone out there who plays EVE on a laptop fulltime?
-What are your system specs? -How bad is the video lag and loading times? -Do you experience any other problems i.e. CTD's?
Any info on this would be much appreciated.

I use my laptop to play EVE round mates houses. Sony Vaio (P4 1.8) 128 Ram Radeon Mobility 7500
its perfectly playable in all situations.
only experience the usual CTDs that happens with EVE - nothing major.

As long as the laptop has a fairly capable graphics chipset so it can run the game at all, I can't see why EVE wouldn't be enjoyable on it.

I play on a hp pavilion ze4325us with a ati radeon 320M graphic card. The card is not supported but I manage nonetheless. I have yet to see how it handles big fleet battles, hope it does or else I might have to focus on another career __________ Capacitor research |

Edited by: Ancient on 17/01/2004 18:54:38 I run EVE on a Dell Latitude D800 (PentiumM 1.6), GFX card is an NVidia GeForce4 4200 Go (64Mb) and it has never had a problem (usual EVE CTD's aside). A top laptop and runs EVE in pure perfection with a 1900 x 1200 resolution, no slow down at all.

Edited by: Tar om on 17/01/2004 23:08:02 I play on Dell Latitude C-840 P4-2.0 1024Mb RAM (PC-2100), GF4 440 GO 64Mb DDR. I can play EVE at 16x12 with no problems apart from the GFX not being DX9 hardware which means that the stars shine through solid objects. (oh, and the Z buffer bug, but I get that on my 9600Pro based Desktop too)

woops sorry my mistake ati radeon igp 320M. donŠt know what the 320 stands for (possibly useless pieace of crap) but the M stands for mobility which all means 64MB of shared memory and no transform and lighting __________ Capacitor research |

eve is definately not a fill-rate hog.. it seems to depend more on geometry (when in battles, and close to stations/other ships)
other than that, it manages to play with minimal resources for how well it looks. any laptop with non-generic video adapeters should play it fine
