I fitted an explusive, kinetic and thermic armor hardener on my Tempest and got following results in damage resistance:
Explusive: 10% -> 55% Kinetic: 25% -> 62.5% Thermal: 35 -> 67.5%
As stated in the description, they should give a +50% bonus each. Anybody know if this is a bug or a feature?

The figures you've stated is a 50% increase...

Stacking penalty, if it wasn't as such, people could easily achieve up to 98% resistance to damage and that would well, be bad for pvp. ------

Resistance modules are a little misleading. What you are getting is x% of the difference between 100% and your current resistance.
In your case, take the explosive for example, 50% of 90% is 45% added to the existing 10% = 55%.

But if youre right, how does this system work, cant figure out the logic behind it.

Thanks, that makes things clear for me. They should state that in the description rather than letting people figure out themself.

That's how it used to be and people were running around with 98% resistance to all damage and it was a bit well, stupid. :) ------

Jim no, it's been like this since beta. However, shield hardeners got nerfed from 70% to 50%, remember?

I agree that this would not be a good thing but then they should state that in the description. These armor hardeners are not cheap atm, I bought 4 of them because I thought they would give that bonus. They only tell you "Penality: Using more than one type of this module or similar modules that affect the same attribute on the ship will be penalized." but not that youll get penalized for fitting one of the hardeners.

Are you sure? I remember my multispectral shields making my Moa pretty solid.. I think the stacking penalty got worse.. (ya i know multispectral got nerfed too). ------

It works like this; 1 - (1 - (50/100))* (1 - (10/100)) = 0.55 = 55% 1 - (1 - (50/100))* (1 - (25/100)) = 0.625 = 62.5% 1 - (1 - (50/100))* (1 - (35/100)) = 0.675 = 67.5%
