That thing with the spheres...
How do you use that? I can't seem to find a reason / advantage for using that. It doesn't seem to make it "easier"...at least not with mission mobs.

1. Estimate how and where your opponents are so you'll know what do to in a fight
2. When salvaging, it gives a 3rd dimension about how to best approach salvaging the wrecks.

Mobs, no. Gauging when to lock target/initiate combat/fire, yes. It's a virtual ruler, not a combat tool. Not everyone uses it, so don't think you're the only one.

You mean like if you're in between 2 distant wrecks, you can fly to one and bookmark the other to warp out and back in to get it rather than flying back and forth?

Almost :)
On higher level missions you'll have tons of wrecks, depending on how you fought, they'll be grouped in different blobs all over.
I tend to fight with one ship and then return to salvage with another.
When you return to salvage, you want to turn Tactical Overlay on. This way, you can "see in 3d" and estimate how best to salvage 10, 50, 100 wrecks.
If you are anywhere near Dodixie, feel free to drop by, after I finish a mission we can warp in the combat field and you can visually see what I'm talking about. (Just add me in game when the EVE restart completes)
