I thought it was really cool we all got a in game message. but 5 minutes before the event was to take place is kinda useless!
Some of us are far off, mining, agent missions etc. We can't just thrown down and hit teh highway.. NEXT GIVE US at lweast 30 minutes notice. WE ALL DONT READ TEH FORUMS. ---------------------------------------

Well i Guess it was because the GM was there and he saw that almost no frigates had turned up.. then he posted the message.. and within seconds, the system was infested with ships...

that's because no one reads the forums. so if you post something in here for weeks, n oone will attend. but if you post it in teh game, the entire populace will arrive. i wish ccp would realize that. ---------------------------------------

Exactly. Nearly all events should be posted, at least a couple hours ahead of time, in-game. And then a couple times closer to the event. It was a good thing to see them trying.

I am a pretty hard forum warrior, I read this crap often, but I always seem to miss events. I caught this frigate thing today because I was: 1) in luminaire 2) just finished an agent mission 3) didn't have anything else to do.
If I didn't have one of these things in line, I wouldn't have made it to this because there was no prior warning.
I think we can call this thread over
GIVE US IN GAME WARNING 1 HOUR PRIOR!!!!! ---------------------------------------

Actually, I wouldn't mind an in-game board where you can see the events, the restrictions, location, etc.

Its been stated previously that they spread the news of event through various mediums (Local channel, scope board, various pre-defined chat channels etc...). This is because they DONT want the entire populace to arrive. They only really want 20-30 people.
THIS is because the game simply wouldn't handle lots more people in one system, as has been proven time and again. The Scope board reaches the most amount of players, and this is why Scope board events are spread over a constellation. To reduce lag for all who want to be involved.
And no, I've never participated in an event since beta. I've missed them all.
(Oh, and the frigate march was a player run event. You are lucky it was advertised at all) ___________________________________________ Join in the NEW Sci-Fi Quiz |
