Still alive and kicking. The scoop/release lag was great that it got somewhat fixed, but remaining issues are just ruining it.
- Stuck on eachother, resulting in extremely slow traverse times
- Not scooping properly, staying just outside scooping range
- Going idle midflight towards a target then re-selecting targets of their own. Usually happens on extended reach with Drone Link Augmentor I's equipped
Redundancy made a few comments on drones in some thread a little while ago, just before the patch, where he stated he'd be forwarding the information and concerns put forth on the forums.
Can we have a word on this?
Thanks.

Let's not forget inputting a command and having one or more drones go, "Naah, I think I'll stick with what I'm doing / do something else entirely," resulting in having to input the same command multiple times to get all your drones behaving as a group.
And poor independent targeting AI, both in drone group coherency and in target selection priority. Plus no player-driven option to change either of the above.

There are two types of drones:
Drone type 1. Programmed to do what the user commands them to do
Drone type 2. Programmed by CCP
Unfortunately drones of type 1 have not been seeded yet.

I think that if drones are so buggy for so long probably they can't know how to fix them, it can happen, they are human and not uber programmer, everyone give the most. Probably one day they reduce the number of controlled drones like did before or delete them entirely, is easier programming than made a working AI
Come on CCP, show us what you can do on AI, you are good in 3d programming we know that

The last time I saw a dev respond about this on the forums, he said he didn't even think these issues existed. It was a little depressing. I just experienced one today, again.

I'm beginning to believe that this is some sort of drone cult going on at these forums, since I started playing EVE I've only had one problem and that was the "drone humping" one and that got fixed a while ago. Am I the only one with behaving drones?

I think a good first step is to make sure the drones attack the same target after the first target is destroyed. Because they never do that. Instead they spread out and attack different targets.
It sounds like it would be easy to fix in the code, but maybe its complex.
