5x Garde II on a Moros with 2 t1 sentry damage rigs (200pt calibration cost):
50*1.92*1.25*2*(1+0.1)*(1+0.1*0.869)*3.5*5/4 = 1255.4 damage per second
Better than some carriers, from what I hear, and that's before you switch on the blasters... ------ Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant tanking |

Edited by: Kayl Breinhar on 24/06/2007 09:42:17 About 8% less than the DPS possible with Ogre IIs when using Garde IIs, which is ~860-865DPS, whereas Ogre IIs will give you 933.12. Bouncer IIs, using the same logic, would be right around 700DPS, down from 758.16 with Bouncer IIs. You can't even really take rate of fire into account since heavies fire 24hp per 2s, and sentries fire 50 every 4s.
The lack of the Gallente Drone Spec IV bonus rob the Garde IIs of nearly 75DPS and the Bouncer IIs of ~60. The only bonus you really get using them is the immediacy of the damage versus the time it takes for Ogre IIs to transit to the target.
EDIT to the above: I know you're thinking theoretically, but who the hell is going to fit Sentry Damage Rigs to a Moros unless it's going to be used only in mystical scenarios where it's never going to have to sustain its tank?

Hmmm, not entirely sure of the stats but if we take the base damage...
BBQ?!?!
On a serious note;
I wanted to do the math but my brain has shutdown today...

Edited by: Wintermoon on 24/06/2007 09:47:53 EDIT: Damn, beaten to it by a mile.
It will go to ELEVEN!
Sentry drone base damage is 50
Let's take a garde II with a base damage mod of 1.92 ( )
x2 for Drone Interfacing 5 x1.25 for Sentry Drone Operation 5 x3 for Dreadnought 4
= 50 x 1.92 x 2 x 1.25 x 3 = 375 damage per shot
ROF is 4 seconds
About 900 DPS, I thought it would be more...
Level 5 dread puts you to 1050 DPS though.
Sentry damage rigs will boost this higher, one tech II rig on a moros with level 5 dread should be around 1207.5 DPS with Garde II...
Disclaimer: My math may be suspect.

This is all moot. Launch sentry drones from a moros and you might find they could be outside your scoop range.. meaning you'd have to move (out of siege mode) to retrieve them.. meaning they are not useful when doing the new missions with a dread, or being in a fleet where you may need to swap drones..
So... the math provided above is correct, but I would only use em for pos busting on a moros I reckon.. and then I would assume to leave the drones behind anyways.
All the stuff above does not necessarily reflect my corp, my alliance or even me.. Drone guide.. |

I'd factor in one thing: the situation. Sometimes you don't want ogre 2s out there (they're a little slower to recall than sentries) regardless of their extra dps.

Wrong, Garde II actually outdamage Ogre II even taking into account the spec skill at level 5. At max skills with a domi, Garde II do 495dps to Ogre II's 466, while on a moros with no damage rigs, they do 1155 to Ogre II's 1088 .
The only issue is that since their range is crappy and their tracking is low, they get affected much more by movement and are pretty much only useful on bs and above.

yeah, you guys are all mission the point of a dread and thats to siege pos. Sentry drones are great for POS sieging, and to me it seems like the moros would do the more damage then all the otehr dreads with some sentry drones.
