ok this is not a "where is cache folder question" this is a WHERE the **** is the cache folder question??
I know that after the Rev II patch the cache folder should end up in c:/program Files/ccp.. folder just as the Logs and capture folder ends up in my documents. But i can tell you thats its not and not, not gonna type it again not or att all anywere can be found on my harddrive...
I know how this sounds, ppl from my corp and just friendly locals has tolde me that this just cant happend because i can play eve whit this overview bugg that can be fixed if i find my cache folder, but i cant find it!!
After the patch Rev II patch that the bugg came whit i Have tried to find it over and over again, uninstallaed eve twice whit no luck of getting a new shinny cache folder, i scanned my register files using regedeit(im using xp-pro) scanned my harddrive more then 10 times filed 2 petitions about it(they got closed after 1 day whit no answeres from ccp) tried to use that clear catch program(it needs to find the cache folder to work..) slammed my keyboard so it almost broke(didnt find it from that either) so now i dont know what to do too find it..
Im in some seriuos need of help here, i need to find my cache folder so i can clear it so i can start using the drone_ingame_menu again. SO if anyone feels the urge to solwe this problem for me since ccp cant be bothered to do it i will throw my arms al over who ever can help me and kiss the g*y all over

I don't have a cache folder either, on the one install I've patched, so you're not the only one. I haven't patched the others because even with the /end LUA OFF modification I still won't be able to keep the installs separate.

I got the same problem finding the cache folder. There is a bug turning the avatar pic of some corp mates entirely black. I used to be able to delete the cache folder and, when back ingame, I could then get the pic again, without any trouble. Now this is no longer possible, as the chache folder is not were it is supposed to be. (C:\Documents and Settings\***\My Documents\EVE)

But why would ((Microsoft(TM) Windows(TM))(TM) Vista(TM))(TM) be picky about where the eve-online cache folder is?
Maybe it was migrated to the server! LOL

Per the patch logs, and my own computer:
Quote:
Game capture, log and cache folders have moved from "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE"
* The capture and logs folders are now located under "My Documents\EVE" * The settings and cache folder are stored under o Windows 2000/XP: "C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE" o Windows Vista: "C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE"
I can understand the confusion. However, the directories are not under My Documents. They are in "Documents and Settings" for the username you run under.
Hope that helps.

First, check this thread.
Second, to find your cache folder, open a command prompt and type: cd \ dir /s /b /a /ad cache

I simply don't have a cache folder on my pc it seems. This really makes eve unplayable. I sent a petition off but its unter tech help, so I expect it to be binned already.

To view hidden files, open Windows Explorer go to Tools>Folder Options>View Tab>Click the show hidden files and folders button.

In case anyone else is suffering from the problems I was having, I found a simple correction. You need to right click->run as administrator for eve to write to your cache.
damn annoying...

You go to the launch eve icon and right-click on it and choose 'run as administrator'

If you're running vista you need to unhide the folders as the cache and settings (among tons more) are hidden :/
