OK, I have an idea for all those people who would like to give those ore-thieves a surprise. How about a smartbomb type bomb you can add to the cargo of a jet can. there are two versions, t1 can be scanned and t2 are "cloaked" from scanning.
The player inserts this device once he jettisons a can and arms it. He (and gang/allies) are the ones able to open the can without it going off. should the bomb go off all contents are lost and a HUGE amount of damage is inflicted to the thief (like a smart bomb, the user/allies do not take damage.) In a perfect world the bomb would do 10k or more damage straight through to structure killing the would be thief.
Should the can expire, the bomb would be lost like any other contents.
Once a player is finished with a can, he can then disarm it and use it again in the future.
BTW the size of each of these would be like 250 m3 so would limit cargo space. I leave other details to others. I would expect they would be expensive too, like 10mISK per.
Any ideas?

Aw, but why not level the field if you can afford it... and actually, if you think about it, it is really a simple and natural progression of what is already available in the eve environment.

nope, no ideas here.
On a serious note there is very little chance that ccp would implement this, as it could be abused in so many ways. The greifing potentials for this are astronomical, and as much as i hate ore thieves, i really don't think that grievers need more ways to annoy me.

/me comes up in a shuttle and sets of your 10 mill bomb and all your ore and I wouldn't even take a sec hit as I haven't killed anyone.
There would be more than one way around this and I think they would be abused aswell.

And I would laugh as you lose your ship (yeah, I know, so what it is a shuttle) your life (hopefully you have implants) and you have to pay for a new expensive skill clone. Eventually you will be too annoyed at paying for skill clones to want to bother grieve people.
you may be right.... but it sure would make things interesting. any you're right... make the cost 1 isk and let everyone use them.

It would not be a level field, nor would it be a natural progression. A natural progression would be a secure can, an escort or a hauler. A level field would be when both parties stand a chance. An insta-kill bomb is neither.

Alts are disposable. Very disposable.
