When I come along in a freighter with a mass that is 685.7 times that of a certain destroyer and happen to bump said destroyer. How come the big ass freighter almost comes to a stand still? The way common sense dictates the event is to send the destroyer flying into next week while the only thing happening on the freighter would be the ship computer to task a maintenance drone to touch up the paint.
Suggestion: Take a look at the physics a bit.

Edited by: Gojyu on 25/06/2007 12:11:54 Physics dictates the freighter would be badly damaged, if not crippled. A destroyer weighs 17.5 tons and can move towards you at a speed of around 550m per second with an afterburner, a whopping 1.1km/sec with a mwd. That's an awful lot of force once it hits you.
Physics also dictates most of the science in eve is a load of crap. But I'm perfectly happy playing in a science fiction game where they don't let physics get in the way of gameplay

Edited by: Chi Quan on 25/06/2007 16:08:58 the point is ppl use this to bump others out of the jump path, or to entirely prevent them from jumping (see Shrike titan loss)

Why do ships pass through things in warp? When ramming a battleship in a MWD'ing frigate shouldn't they both expect to take an appropriate crapload kinetic damage?

What would be nice is if CCP wakes the **** up and FINALY update the anti-colision system. Have a smaller ship get bump away from a bigger ship so you don't have freaking cruisers and battlecruisers bump capital ships like they were nothing.
Ever seen a drake going 1500 ms bump a Wyvern mothership? I almost threw up. ______

Actually, a sabre can easilly reach 7000 m/s with mwd. If that thing hit anything it would turn into pure energy. Also known as /signed :)

rework the bumping physics + "impact-shaking" from missiles. this looks a bit absurd
