Hey folks, so i've been reading this whole topic all 16 pages and basicly all posts but yet i'm not able to resolve the issue with my HTC Vario III (Kaiser-120; it's TyTN2 branded by T-Mobile).
Device : HTC MDA Vario III OS : WM6.0 Midlet Manager : Original one in WM6 - Java intent (v11.1.7.1036 (Build 20070320) I used thelung187's hosted .jad file (which was first .jad working so many thanks) to install the software. So far all fine it runs, i can add API key (only entered limited one so far), account ID. Now the problem is when i choose load in account it gives me :
java.io.IOException
nothing else. Now i'm not sure what should i do really. Midlet manager asks whether i want to allow connection of untrusted software to the internet (EDGE connection is turned on when i'm executing the program) so i just hit yet and got the error.
Thanks for taking look at this.

Edited by: Eireen Harvenheit on 07/10/2008 10:23:30 So how to install and run it on HTC phones?
1) Download : IBM MIDP 2.0.
2) Copy to your mobile phone, run and install it.
3) Download : emsp.jad and emsp.jar.
4) Copy them both to your mobile phone and put them to the same folder. That means they will be for example \My Documents\emsp.jad and \My Documents\emsp.jar.
5) Run the midlet manager you installed (Start -> Programs -> IBM MIDP 2.0)
6) Button Install (left function key)
7) Type in path of .jad file (\My Documents\emps.jad) and press Ok. You will be asked if you want to install untrusted application so just click through that.
8) Once completed esmp will be listed in Midletapplications so just run it (Actions -> Launch).
9) First go to options (double taps of stylus are required here) and choose "Change back key" now press button which will do function Back (works same way as back in your web browser). Unfortunately function keys cannot be set (i used left "arrow" instead). I suspect this is not bug of the program but IBM MIDP is blocking them form such actions. I was able to set left action button as back button in Java Intent. Set any other option you need in options.
10) Select Accounts and Create. Name of the account i did put the same as i really have, i don't know if this affects functionality in any way. User ID is 7-digit number that you can see on your API page. Limited API key you will get on the very same page as you obtained ID. I filled API manually but it might be possible to use MyMobiler which is freeware remote desktop for WM devices (you must have ActiveSync installed in order to use this) and just copy paste from your desktop PC. I will test it a bit later.
11) Full API key is not required so use it if you want.
12) Choose Load. You will be asked if you want to allow the application access the internet. Select yes and continue. Watch out here you MUST have GPRS/EDGE/3G already connected! You will receive an error :
javax.microedition.io.ConnectionNotFoundException: Host lookup failed: api.eve-online.com - Authoritative Answer Host not found
If you receive this, close the EMPS and run it again. You GPRS/EDGE/3G should be active from previous try so just navigate to button Load and click it again.
13) You should be able to see info.
PS. I can test some more stuff on HTC if someone requests it :).

There is only one version which should work on all platforms because it's coded in Java. If iPhone can work with Java it should work.

Edited by: Eireen Harvenheit on 30/10/2008 10:04:41 It is. Size of jar file is 199300 while expected is 199301. Numbers match. If you mean that grpahics around, that's window of remote desktop for WM device, only concern is written in white area of that screenshot.
EDIT : Ok i fixed it. There is no need to use jad file at all. I have updated the guide.

I think i've found bug. You cannot create account in 3.3.2. I just thought it might be good idea to clear previous installation and start over with new version. But in 3.3.2 there are newly done fields for ID, API, etc. Whatever i put in there just doesn't work. It won't let me create the account. So i isntalled previous version, created empty account (with no API and ID), then installed new version (upgraded installation) and then i was able to fill in API and ID. Fields were in old style tho (each field is whole display on the device).

What's latest version again? I just downloaded .jar file but after installation it says 3.4.0, not 3.4.4

Yes, EMSP will work with WiFi, however you have to enable and connect to network before you run EMSP. Wap i'm not sure about. If it can download xml then it will work. Yet again you must be connected before you run EMSP. The thing is, EMSP cannot initiate connection (GPRS, EDGE, 3G). You will get :
javax.microedition.io.ConnectionNotFoundException: Host lookup failed: apy.eve-online.com - Authoritative Answer Host not found
First question you will get from EMSP when you're connectig. It doesn't matter if you are connected to any network or not : Can emsp use airtime to send or receive via an http connection until emsp terminates? Yes/No
When you confirm this, it will download on prefered active connection (this means if you have WiFi on and EDGE on and your phone is set as WiFi is prefered, it will go for WiFi rather than EDGE).
Jaabaa : i'd have few ideas and suggestions :). Should i post here or PM ingame?

Originally by: Phyara Nexar Hi Jaabaa,
I have your program installed on a Nokia 6300 and it works for all characters except of one. I'm loading the char details and I can view the skills and the attributes. But when I try to look at the information screen or at the statistics, I get an error with the following details:
net.sf.evemsp.SkillPlannerMI... (the rest is not shown)
Null Pointer java/lang/NullPointerException
Any idea what the reason could be?
Hey there, I installed EMSP to my new Nokia today and i also have NullpointerException error, but it doesn't do anything really. I still got chars training and everything. Just update it via characters and not accounts (characters -> char name -> update) and error will be gone (altho i have only 1 char so maybe that's that).

It might be possible yes, but i seriously doubt about that. Not having picture is minor issue imo, but truly never knows.

It's same for HTC and presumably any Windows Mobile device. You cannot use calendar from EMSP (meaning you would add appointment there).
