It's not about encouraging or discouraging it. It's about allowing it to exist. It isn't a solo game in the strictest sense, no. ie it's a single player shoot em up or anything. However, solo pvp should be a viable part of the game. Why not? What's the point of eliminating it? Simply because you happen to think "it ISNT supposed to be a solo game"? Just to protect the status quo? Your reasoning is illogical and you give no reason as to why. If people enjoy solo pvping, let em do it. It's not ruining the game. They still exist in a massively multiplayer world. Though they fight alone, they still are forced to interact with many other players. It's not a solo game maybe but certain parts can be, sure, why not? Including for instance 1v1(or more) pvp.

There really isn't a reason to blot out solo pvping. I hate arguments against changes that are simply for the sake of its own existence, or "just because". They are moronic, it makes no sense.

Why no solo pvp? It's not a solo game. Um, but can't we allow solo pvp? Why do you want it gone? Or if you don't care, why not let it exist? Could it because you want the whole game to revolve around what YOU want out of the game?

Quite true, Solo play does not mean no interaction... solo play is basically doing something alone...

I would say Solo PvP combat is impossible, you need another player to target :)

But even if I am running a mission or mining away in some safe spot (Solo Play), I can chat with the folks in Local, my corp mates as well as a number of other "non-solo" activities...

Many of the current Online games have made Solo play hard by using a "forced grouping" concept... can you imagine Eve where everything required a blob??? Not a good idea if you ask me, so yes, Solo Play needs to be an integral part of the game.
