As a pure Galentee combat pilot in the EVE universe, why do I have mining skills, why do I have Minmatar ship skills, why do I have shield skills? I can see why other people have and are ok with playing a diverse capsuleer but not me!
Let's compare it to a young girl dating a boy from a different caste, or race. At the time she thought it would be a good idea. But then she grew up and was ashamed of it and hated it about herself. To bad, she can't change it, it's real life, she has to live with it forever.
But this is a game and in this universe we should have more control over out character's lives. Moreover, some of these 'choices' were never choices at all, they were forced down our throats during character creation. Some are just pointless skill books we accidentally plugged in but don't want to train, and they look like **** on our skill sheet.
Let that girl erase Mining IV, Minmatar Frigate III, Shield Operation 0
Please let us erase unwanted things from our past.
Even in real life you can do this. Why did God design alcohol or ********* to perform this funtion? That's not even mentioning Opium.
Please let us tidy up our character CCP. Let us tidy up their lives. |

I've been RPing since mid-2003, and I really don't feel any need to delete those Caldari ship skills I have despite taking an oath to never fly anything that wasn't Amarrian in 2003.
I'd much rather the devs spent their time fixing problems that actually exist.

LOL ... and you have never learned useless things when you went to school?
From an EVE RP perspective the skills you start off with are based on your chosen background, faction, and career path ... which are all RP elements ... unless you want to have cortical surgery to excise part of your brain or perhaps a lobotomy or a targetted nanite memory removal ... you are stuck with the skills you have ... but don't expect any of these removal procedures to give you any SP back :) |

And as if it would take the dev's any amount of time at all to add a delete button. Don't let them trick you into thinking that the loot all button took 10 years, even though it did, it shouldn't have.

Dumb idea, you'll end up with people going "OMG I ACCIDENTLY MY WHOLE SKILLS" and then sobbing to CCP they deleted them by mistake and demanding some reimbursement, not to mention if you didn't want to train them why add them in the first place? Don't get me wrong i've got skills that were from the beginning when you started with 800k SP in skills dictated by your bloodline selection but i see them pointless to remove as maybe when i've got nothing left to train then i'll move onto those. I'm guessing its for those with a potential OCD complex that wants there EVE board page to be immaculately vertical  |

Or whatever. Sounds like the prep work for Ethnic cleansing of EVE. Might actually be fun for the first six minutes.

Ma'am, If you read up on Minmatar ship flying skills then at some time in your life you wanted to fly Minmatar. I don't know what they teach at the Federal Navy Academy, but back in the day when I went to the University of Caille I was taught only Gallente frigates in their combined STEM/Starship Captain program. Also, I think there are more skills being taught after graduation than in the past. Everyone in my generation had to learn Mining 1, even if they didn't want to. I've been told that this is no longer the case.
I would nevertheless support this except for the fact that I no longer can identify any of my useless skills. I once had Small Projectiles 3 for the longest time without being able to fly Minmatar, but I've since trained Minmatar Frigates. |

Removing skills does not make sense from a RP point. The skills you trained or started with are part of the background and history of your character and there is really nothing wrong if you decided at one point you wanted ice harvesting 5 and exhumers 5.
If some super-awesome pvp corps things they don't want/need members because they trained some-non combat skills in their career then it is their loss and you are better off without wasting your time with these guys. |

Deleting SP is a terrible idea.
If you really want to give it a go... try podding yourself with no clone a few times... you might get lucky.
When you die your ship gets blown to tiny, burning pieces. There's no "corpse run", no "respawn". You're dead. That's it. You just lost everything you were flying, perhaps even your body. Worse still you may have lost the space you controlled or resources you were gathering.-áTake that away and EVE is no longer EVE. TL;DR: Fix war decs. |

some gallente ships fair better with good navigation & shield skills.... pretty much every gallente frig & destroyer needs it,
even some cruisers /bc do good with shields.... arazu & brutix are far better sheild buff tanked than it is armor tanked.
also you only start with mining 2 not 4... if you trained it to 4 than thats your fault for being a carebear

I didn't think I would be on Rodj's side ever, but I guess I got to do something new today. I don't begrudge my own training of Amarr battleships, even though I do not see any point in my future where I will want to fly them. Maybe I'll fly a smartbomb Armageddon sometime. That was my choice and I am living with it.

Choices have consequences. To me it sounds like you re-specced into another profession, and now don't feel like paying the increased clone costs due to the fact of having skills in your original profession, too. If so, learn to make the best of knowing how to do multiple things.
If this is about OCD and about "wanting to forget your past", deal with it. You're supporting a RP argument with "this is a game so it shouldn't be so realistic". RP is about immersing yourself in a fictional world as if it was real. Just as IRL you would have to deal with memories of a bad relationship marring the rest of your life, or more appropriately, deal with the fact that everything you learned in your classical education is practically useless, in Eve you have to deal with having done and learned things that you can't erase from your history.
Some things are irreversible. Skills, employment history, kills and deaths, and last but not least, bad posts on the forums. |

I used to be OCD about my skill sheet. I had laser skills and spaceship command skills I never thought I would use. I am glad I have them now. I even trained Salvage Drone Operation when I got it from a mission years ago, and there are no Salvage Drones as far as I know. I don't know what changed in my brain about that, but now I am not OCD about my skill sheet and will train any skill that I am able to train. |
