Hi all,
I put a secure container near a gate with the idea of using it as a store for my booty from killing NPC (3 spawn points nearby). I set the password & bookmarked the location.
I docked my badger and then took out my Merlin for some NPC fun ... When I had 300m3 of booty in the secure container I took my Merlin back to my base station and logged off for a bit....
Some hours later I took my Badger out to the bookmark and there was no container - I used the scanner and looked at all objects with 100K and found nothing ... my container was gone ???
Obviously I'm a bit peeved - I bought the badger ,secure conatainer and the anchoring skill so I could keep my Merlin out for longer and still collect all the booty from the NPC. The container cost over 100K, the skill 50K and the badger about 400K ... for a guy in a frigate this is a lot of money !!!
can containers be stolen ??

If I were to destroy a secure container would I then be able to pick up the contents (or are they destroyed)?

Edited by: George Carter on 19/01/2004 13:25:10 Did you anchor the container?
As for destroying secure containers - yeah it can be done but they have a large amount of hitpoints (I think the giant secure has about a mil ) so if someone did kill it they would have been there some time ---------------------------------------------

I think I anchored it - it was out in space and I set the password ... right click did not give any 'anchor' options ... or am I missing something ??

Its a right click option on the container when u release it. Do you have the specific achoring skill? (the one that you train in corp management skills) ---------------------------------------------

I have the anchoring skill (level 1). I was deploying a large secure container. I could not see any required skills for the container except anchoring ...
do I need a higher level ??
let me check the manual ... hmmm, now where is it ... oh yeah - there is none !!!

May be a stupid question but did you actually anchor the container. ie right hand click - anchor?

Ask your ceo to look under his assets, property tab it will show if the container is still there.

You didn't anchor it I'm afraid.
It doesnt tell you that the password is useless (doesnt set) if you dont anchor it - so somebody came along, opened it and took the loot or just scooped up the entire can with loot (again no protection as it wasnt anchored).
I really dont know how you get the ability to anchor a can or even if you can from within an NPC Corporation.....
hmm....
PS - I sent you something to cover your "lesson". Hope it helps.

(the worst thing is that I spent over an hour killing NPC to half fill a large container ...)
lession learned !
And thx again for the pressie !

Yeah - my mate did it while he was in an NPC corp so it does work. Just remember it takes about 60 seconds for it to anchor ---------------------------------------------

Its anchor for yourself - not anchor for the corp isnt it?
(The later option won't ever be available for an NPC Corp member)
