Alright, I need help getting a setup for my Alliance's t1 frig tourney. NO t2 modules, ships, or faction mods/ships are allowed.
Currently I am debating either a griffin, condor, or rifter. The griffin would use ewar and snipe with light missiles (is that possible?), the condor would rocket+speed, or the rifter ACs with speed.

Go 4-5 pages back... someone just asked this question and got some good answers.
Personally... I would use a Pure Passive Rifter. No T1 frig can break its tank and if you don't die, you dont lose :)

Hi. Griffin is nice with multispec, but tbh with they damage and without webber u would not be able to kill the others(maybe if u drop 1 ecm and use a wweb, but than u need to have good ew skills)
The question is what would be the range u begin to fight? If over 10km u have good chance with a kestrel. If under than u dead. We made t1 frig tournament on close range. in every case the winner was the tristan http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/9741/rinaldo2ir8.jpg |

I've run into a tristan setup that absolutely ruled, not sure what it was, but it was on sisi, and very effective That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter. It is a combat drone used by carriers. |

My active armour tanked Rifter with no damage mods can break its tank quite easily, and I hear rocket Kestrels do even more damage. How much can you tank on that thing?
At any rate, if any decent frig duel, the best ships would be either punishers or Rifters, and I hear kestrels with plate and rockets do a load of damage.
A griffin could work, yes, but it'd take quite long to actually kill anyone, and when one of your jammers would fail, you'd be very dead.
BTW, are you doing the tournament with realistic fits (meaning, scrambling is mandatory), or you're allowed to make setups which will never fly? And, at what ranges are you starting out?

Lets just say that with "T1" Modules I can get over 51hp/sec recharge and 60+ DPS on a Rifter.

Kestrels can dish out quite a lot of damage if you are able to fit 4 launchers. Either go with Light Missiles for range or Rockets for high DPS. As defense use a passive EM hardener and a small or medium shield extender. Afterburner or small shield booster if you can fit it, and low slots contain a choice of armor plates, ballistic control units or fitting mods.

oh hell, go for an incursus full gank... if you can hit the foe at point blank range, that's the way to go
maybe a punisher, for the extra tank
fit the mids with dual webs
