Something like Sandboxie:
http://www.sandboxie.com/
This will prevent programs from installing back doors and such onto your computer by running them in a virtual space that disappears after the program is closed. Security experts please speak up if I'm incorrect.

It seems like a neat program, though I wouldn't use it.

Did you read and _understood_ the source code of that program? If not it's in no way more secure then running the application natively.

There are countless games in the world. There are at least as many ppl that dont like one or more rules of said games. That never stopped smart game designers from creating good games.

Still not 100% secure, anyways, most of these people developing for the EVE-API could just release source code, so people can compile it themselves. - AwoxEveUtils (EVELauncher, ShiftWindows, ScratchPad) script for AutoIt scripting language!

I would rather go with VMWare or Virtual PC (or other similar products). ---- Weeks of programming can save you hours of planning. Jumpplanner v2.0 - Routeplanner for all jumpcapable ships! |

Yeah, security is a big concern, as always. If you aren't 100% sure that you trust the source of a program/web site, then I recommend not using it. It only takes one dishonest person to use your information for evil.
At any rate, as long as you're just using your user ID and API key, the only damage they can do is looking at your data. They can't actually steal your money or stuff because they can't log in as you.
Just never, ever give out your username or password. Ever.

that is why I won't try any of 3th soft, except evemon.... for now
show me the code so I can compile it... or you wont have me as a client

not to sound like an advert, but thats why my skill notifier/monitor has freely available source code, you shouldnt have to worry about if x application will install dodgy software/steal your info ----------------- Eve Skill Monitor |

This assumes that you *can* read the source code, of course, or the writer of something evil hasn't hidden his payload well.

Doesn't take a programmer to understand that a program that records your key strokes would do all or several of the following: 1) Detect what keys are pressed. 2) Email or connect to a website and upload data
I can't speak for anyone else but it seems logical, if your looking at code and you see calls to "Read" thats bad. If you look through the code and see a url to a website you don't know thats never good.
