Edited by: DB Preacher on 19/01/2004 18:17:08 Having spent a month out of the game over xmas, I was excited to get back and see how my favourite Lvl 3 agents were. I had done business with them for a number of months and have a brilliant reputation with them.
So, i check them out and they still love me and it's all good. But then I hear about R&D being the next best thing since the Jovians and check to see if my uber lvl 3 agents have an R&D Dept.
They work for the Brutor Tribe Corp and as such have no R&D Dept in their Corp. Bummer.
1. Does this mean that I have to start from scratch with new agents in a lvl 1 corp (my minmatar rating after all those previous missions was only 1.0 )?
2. What use are these agents at all, is there any point in doing missions for them and if not, why are they in the game at all?
Any advice would be greatly received.
thx dbp

Try reading the numerous threads on the topic in this forum, it's all been answered. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

Yes thanks for that, I had a quick look through the numerous topic's in this forum and found none which I thought related directly to my query.
Perhaps you could link a few for me?

Ok numbnuts, I had read both the stickies before posting. I had trawled through the forums and saw no topics directly relating to other non-R&D corps (nearly all are about how good R&D corps are). However, I couldnt find any information on whether it's worth continuing with my lvl 3 guys or not. Or perhaps I am misreading the information that I have read (which is of course entirely possible).
Either way, I still require the information. (dbp wonders if Gariuys has even bothered to read her post?).
But thanks for your continued interest in this thread

Edited by: DB Preacher on 19/01/2004 18:19:38 weeeeeeeee,
after trawling the boards and reading every post i came across(hurry up with that bloody search facility), I found the answer here:
random url
so the answer is: if I want some shuttles then keep doing missions for my agents otherwise start from scratch elsewhere.

Edited by: Mischief on 19/01/2004 18:21:12 It is still worth carrying on with normal agents. These provide Implants, manufacturing items required for Tech 2 products and most of all, the skill packs you need in order to use Research Agents.
You will however need to start doing missions for a corp that has an R&D department unless you have access to any R&D Agents at the moment
These Research Agents will research your skill (you both have to have the same skill) and you may then be given a Tech 2 blueprint in the future.

Is there any point in doing missions for corps that don't have an R&D department?
Well, if the rewards from the missions are valuable to you then yes. If the faction from that corp raises a faction that you want to raise that would not be raised by an R&D corp then yes again.
If you can get the faction and rewards you want from an R&D corp than you might want to switch in order to get the option to do research.
Note: most R&D corps don't give out many kill missions if that is what you are looking for.

Well it's not that bad. If you had done a lot of missions for that agent, you also should have a relativly high Minmatar faction. In which case, you can run missions for any of the Minmatar corps, as an agent looks at either person rating, corp rating, or Faction rating.
Sure, you'll have to start with a new agent, but EQ doesn't really seem to affect enough as to be noticeable, so it's not a big deal.

If you want to try and 'target' particular types of bonuses, you can also check out the corporation info in the World of EVE section (I think it's called Organizations).
This should give you an idea of what each corp can potentially give out.
