Edited by: Typhoon Class on 29/06/2007 05:01:23 Hello all, I plan on doing level 4's here shortly and looking for a great armor tanker.
Has anyone played around with the Typhoon lately? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I noticed the ship loadouts for the Typhoon have not been updated in a while and looking for ideas. Cheers.

Oh yes . Phoon is awsome for lvl 4 missions . the phoon can handle all of them without breaking too much sweat .
im using the current setup wich has made it possible to handle all the lvl 4 missions high: 4x med arty 720 II 4x Art Siege with specific torps meds 4x cap charger II lows: 2 Large armor repairer II then one BCU and rest RAT specific harderners . 2 active and 2 passive
let one LAR running all the time . when the going gets tuff just put the other LAR on for a couple of secconds . /Martin

I use this fit. It works well although I am thinking of taking the ACs of and replacing with 720 artillery for the range.
4 x Arabalest cruie 4 x 800 scout AC
100MN AB 3 x euctecic rechargers
LAR2, MAR2, 2 rat specific hardeners, 2 eanm 2, duc2.
I could get the resistances higher but I am too lazy to switch out hardeners every mission and mostly fight bloods, sansha anyway
2 Armour amount rigs and a capacitor recharge rig.
5 Heavy t1 drones, 5 medium t2
Not found mission yet I cannot do although some take a bit of time. I am probably going to get rid of 1 EANM and replace with ballistic control of some kind to increase gank.
LAR2 will pretty much perma-run with cap stable around 45%. This lets me add a boost from the MAR2 or use the AB a litle to get into effective AC range. The tank is good enough to get you out of trouble if you get too much aggro.
Last night I messed up aggro on a drone mission and had about 9 or 10 BS hitting me along with all the little stuff. The tank held long enough for my drones to kill the 2 scramblers, and cruise/AC to take out 3 of the cruiser sized rats before having to warp out. After that it was a case of warp back in - blow up a couple of BS and cruisers then warp out. Did this a couple of times until I was down to about 6 BS - which this ship could take out without any further problems.
Allowing for LP being woth just under 1000 isk each - which is about what my best offers will net me I can average around 10 mill and hour in the Typhoon, maybe alittle more.

o/
Doing lvl 4 for 6 months in typhoon now .. but err .. my fit is quite "strange" ..
I'm doing 75% of missions only with my drones ..
But well, before having all drone skills, i started with
high : 4* siege launchers 1* howitzer 1400mm 1* heavy nos 2* tractor beam (could replace with guns for extra damage)
med : 3* cap rech 1* target painter (with torps, it's quite pleasant, even on BS, could replace with an AB)
Low : 1* LAR (i rushed to buy a centus x-type .. but you can play with 1med + 1large or 2 large to start with ..) 1* EANM 2* energized hardeners (passive) depending on mission 2* active hardeners (active) depending on mission
You can also change the low slots fitting to put a cap power relay or a damage module for missiles ..
Nowadays, with good drone skills / armor tanking skills (don't say it's impossible :p) for "hard" lvl 4 missions
high : 4* tractor 4* siege launcher named
med : 3* cap rech named 1* target painter named
low : 1* LAR named 1* eanm named 1* damage control named or cap power relay named 2* energized hardeners (passive) depending on mission 2* active hardeners (active) depending on mission
With this second setup i do missions only with drones -_- (heavy t2 / med t2 @ drones interf 5, heavy drones 5, combat drone 5, scout drone 5, gallente drone 5 ..)
Never tried enemies abound, all the others missions i did them :p (well .. because of playing only with drones, i'll soon leave my typh to fly a dominix :])

Edited by: Quilan Masaq on 29/06/2007 09:29:05 Edited by: Quilan Masaq on 29/06/2007 09:26:17 I run Lv4's in the following no fuss:
[High] 4 x 650mm Proto AC 2 x Arby Cruise + 2 x Arby Seige / 4 x Cruise / 4 x Seige
(Launchers depend on what i'm fighting)
[Med] 3 x Cap Recharger II's 1 x 100MN AB II
[Low]
1 x LAR II 1 x MAR II 1 x DC II 1 x EANM (I use a True Sansha One) 2 x Rat Specific Active Armour Hardeners 1 x Capacitor Power Relay (I use the Beta one as its same stats as a CPR II but with less fitting cost...)
[Rigs]
2 x CCC 1 x Aux Nano Pump
[Drones]
5 x Ogre's 5 x Hammer's
How I fly it:
Choose target, and AB towards (my skills I get about 450M/s from the AB), while getting into the ~24Km range of the AC's proceed to bombard the target with Cruise/Torps. As you hit the 40-45Km range of your drones send them in. Soon as you hit falloff range let rip with the AC's and orbit at about 2-3Km. With large targets (BC+) you can leave the AB on and still hit easy enough, with smaller targets you may have to turn off the AB to reduce transversal and let your gun tracking catch up.
Eitherway soon as you hit AC range most stuff is shredded rapidly.
If you want more tank and less gank you can drop the AC's to 425mm's and stick with Cruise Launchers and replace the MAR II with annother LAR II.
