Sorry for the newb question, but....
Can a tractor beam pull a wreck to you so it can be looted?

Yes, that was the entire purpose of its implementation. All those Raven pilots are lazy and slow, so they'd clear a deadspace depot in 10 minutes, and spend two hours trying to loot their wrecks.

Great...thanks for the replies. I did a mission last night that took about 15min to complete and almost an hour to collect the wrecks. This will work nicely.
Thanks again Jakkel

Destroyer w/ 4 tractors + 4 savagers = win.

Destroyer, definately.
For solo missions, you won't notice. But when ratting, you will. Tractor beams can only engage wrecks/cans that belong to you, another member of your player (not NPC) corp, or another member of your current gang.

Notto nitpick, but tractors were in the game before wrecks were. they were put in to make looting remote wrecks/cans and ore cans easier though yes. |

Desty with 4+4 config is more work+sweat+key-bashing than the lvl4 mission in ship :D -- V.H.

Not really with such a small cargo hold only 573w/ T2 cargo extender. The best salvage ship I have seen so far is the hurricane with it's 7 low slots you can have a cargo around 3,000 m^3 which is great for thoes L4 missions that have over 2.5k of loot. but if you are caldari I would say the drake is a great salavger almost 1k m^3 cargo hold w/ 4 T2 expanders throw a 100mn AB on it you go about 900M/s with 5/3 trac/salvagers and 5 drones with a decent tank ;) Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions of 400x120 pixels -Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected]) |

If the field is large enough that the Catalyst can't hold it all, I drag a jetcan around behind me, then come back for it once the work is over. Depending on the volume, a second trip in the destroyer, or bring out the hauler.
I'm certainly not at the point where I can afford a dedicated BS-class salvage vehicle, and I be the OP isn't, either. I'll keep that in mind for the future, though.
