you people make me question the sanity of the human race sometimes
the crashes with the database(DB) (if thats what you mean) has been looked into and we are still looking into it. i will also add that we have ordered new DB hardware also to improve our much loved DB. the hardware is not to inprove it's stability, but to help inprove it's performance. i think TQ's DB is at about 700gig atm and rising quite fast, 20gig per week or something
soon as i have more information about the crashes, i will tell all

It does surprise me how little faith people put in CCP, i remember back when i started in 2004 things like that used to happen a lot but dear lord so much has improved since then and i have come to put quitre a bit of faith in what CCP say, yes by all means call me a fanboi and BoB pet if it makes you feel big.

I'm gonna bet the "or something" means that Sharkbait doesn't deal with the statistics and it could actually be 20gb a month / a quarter / whatever.
That said, 20gb/week is certainly not unheard of in many enterprise scale databases - it can far more infact, and that is "only" a terabyte a year which in some large multinational companies is nothing.
That said the fact it all has to be on RAMdisk is kinda worrying, how many TBs can those things scale to anyway?

Well, considering terabyte drives are no longer a thing of conjecture, I'd say they're fine on storage for the time being. The problem lies in the sheer complexity of such a mammoth database, and the crashing and burning that occurs every time said database does something off-the-wall.

Jita : Where goon alts sit afk in an attempt to lag the system so Bob alts cant do anything there.
Note: Replace goon and Bob with any allaince of choice if you wish
