Looking to sell my Dread Pilot, this is not one of the many 'almost' or 'soon to be' dread pilots, this is the real deal, the char specializes in flying the Amarr Dreadnought, and you would be hard pressed to find a better Revelation Pilot.

I bid 1 isk.
What's the point of having a "starting bid" AND a reserve? This isn't Ebay. You don't get charged a fee based on your starting price, so you're just wasting time starting the bidding at a price lower than you're willing to sell for.

You could try not trolling his post as that is actually against the forum rules.
The reasons for a Starting Bid and a Reserve(One that is open) are:
1) People like to bid. They will bid from the starting bid and get into bidding wars with each other.
2) It allows the seller to gauge the interest in the product and perhaps offer another one at a different rate based on said interest or even drop down his reserve/buyout based on said interest.
3) Every time someone bids, it brings the post back up to the top and thus promotes more interest.
4) If the reserve is not met, the seller can always contact the highest bidder below the reserve and they can work out a deal.
