Tried it a couple of years back, but didn't end up using it very much. I ended up using BSPlayer ahead of Zoom at the time, though I use VLC more than anything these days.

Sucked when I tried it. I'm not using Media Player Classic and it is by far the best player out there. Better than VLC even. ____________________________________________

I use it all the time. It has a hundred features than any other media player, it's very customizable, and I like the keyboard shortcuts more than other players.
It is very complicated, and you do have to turn on the 'advanced mode' to see everything that you can change.

It comes with the CCCP for a reason; its compatible with all the major codecs and unlike media player classic (a good but relatively barebones player) is very customizable and feature-rich.

I bought it last year. I found it kinda confusing. I only really use it for DVD's every now and then (I mostly use PowerDVD for movies now though). If you're a power user and/or control freak then I imagine it can be a really useful tool.

If you're a normal user, WMP should be fine for you - VLC at the best.
I was using VLC until recently when I switched to Zplayer, mainly because of some particularly nasty file types, ogm - it's meant to work with VLC, but didn't with mine.
I use Zplayer now, it's nice, also has its share of bad points though.
Good points - shinier than VLC (shininess factor of anything = good) - more universal afaik - shortcuts are much faster than VLC, once you know them - more customizable than VLC, easier to customize - can be pretty barebone if you want it to be
Bad points - skin of prog might not be to your liking - a silly amount of codecs are installed and spam your programs list - new shortcuts take time to get used to/find out/customize - no DVD-playability in the standard (free) version - I can't find the framecapture option...
You decide! My advice would be to try both, but if VLC will do you fine, use VLC imo.
