It's how it should be. Highcolor icons will be generated on EFT startup. Errors you describe must be coming from wrong installation. Looks like you copied new data files but kept old exe file. Extract archive contents in some new directory and copy there your old config.ini, Characters and Setups folders.
Yep, I have done something wrong. (at least I forgot to replace .exe :-/ sorry...)
But that not change so much. Yep, now icons rendered a bit better... No crappy background. It now solid white (or black when Hi-color forced).
But it never becomes transparent as far as Win2k isn't support 8-bit alfa icons. -- Thanks CCP for cu<end of sig> |

And missing ability to import character from XML makes EFT unusable in long term. You can only fit Your own ships for Your current char skills.
No way to fit ships for Your corp members and characters on suspended accounts.
Keeping characters in EFT\Character\ folder in original XML format may resolve this issue. At least I would be able to copy my exported character to that folder and restart EFT.
Also keeping fitting in XML will help many people exchanging their thoughts.
You may use restricted version of QuickFit format.

I really don't see why one should integrate this with EVEMon. You can already import all your character data just by going to View->Character editor, Creating new character and copy-pasting the user ID and API key there, just as the description box indicates.
EFT is far better than Quickfit (only thing I'm really missing is cap simulation) and now that latest version has double-click to add item (much nicer than drag and drop) and all level V skills character inbuilt so one does not have to edit that one.
Are You know difference between "interaction" and "integration" ?
QF interacts with EVEmon without integration. And that makes me very happy each day I use it.
In example, I have new corp member, one month old. I need to make skill plan so he can fly battleship with enough fitting as fast as possible.
What I can do with QF? I'll start QF, import current character, adjust Engineering, Electronics to maximum and start making a fit. Once I have somewhant good fit, I'll go back to character tab and save skillplan, then import it to EVEmon and polish order/add other required skills. Then send that plan to member.
With EFT? I can't do anything.
More? I have 5-month plan to fly Arazu. I want to see how it may looks like after all.
With QF? I'll export planned character(long format) from EVEmon, import to QF and make a fit.
With EFT? Nothing.
I can continue, but.. Is it really need?

With /OldHints it works great (as expected). No more stupid hangs for a sec when I hovering module activation icons, but in this mode it does not show the required skills hint. Can You please fix this ASAP? (And make this mode primary, please?)
And in the love of god, WHEN we can expect importing skills from file? Why shall I close EFT every time I want to import new character? Can You at least scan /Characters directory for new characters at the time Character Editor window called? It will solve my problem.

evemon doesn't seem to have a problem.. so i think it is with eft. i was posting here so i could be sure i wasn't the only one (and doing something stupid) and possibly make someone aware of the issue
Then do what I did. I've never tried using API in EFT cause I have EVEmon runned 24/7 and after that API returning only "try again later" to EFT. I just made a simple script to translate EVEmon text-only characters to the EFT .chr format. ATM I'm working to make it available for public. Please wait a bit. -- Thanks CCP for cu<end of sig> |

Save Your character from EVEmon in a .txt format and upload to the simple form above. Get back converted character and save it to the /Characters folder of EFT. That way, You may also export Your planned characters. MUCH easier than sitting in EFT's Character Editor picking every single skill and adjusting to the expected level.
And yes, You must restart EFT to get Your exported characters to work (or better have it not running at the time of characters implantation). -- Thanks CCP for cu<end of sig> |

Yes there is AV running, however there is a slight problem running it the way I want since I cannot have an AV running checking every file when it is accessed since there is a lot of requests every sec.
So what happends is that an uploaded file is saved onto a specific folder which is being monitored and then after a short time moved to its destination. There is a chance that an infected file can be moved out from that monitored folder before the AV has checked it and thus getting past the scan.
I think it can be resolved other way (I've used it for other purpose, but in similar situation). 1. User upload a file. 2. script checking that file is uploaded and giving the user a size and MD5 of the uploaded file. Also showing a message that file will be available for download after a short while. 3. Script, at the same time, moving the file to the temp folder and adding it to the list of checked files. 4. Different script starts by scheduler and run antivirus checking against every file. Antivirus must be able to save logfile and produce "Ok" on every checked file, or at least end with errorlevel if it found anything smelly and scary. 5. After each check, if nothing found, it moving checked file to the intended location to make it available for downloading.
That way, You 1. Ensure that EVERY file is passed through antivirus checking. 2. Do not slow down Your system by running AV monitor in the mode of checking archives/nested archives. -- Thanks CCP for cu<end of sig> |

It is a good idea, to let You know. barges have rather weak capacitor and stripminers do use alot of cap. Guess You must also improve Your cap skills, because I'm able to permarun 3 strips on Covetor even with early deactivations due to rocks beeing popped before cysle ends. Was never run out of cap in like 5 hours.

I have no clue what it is supposed to mean, but i wanted to tell you that it fixed my tooltip problem. Before that option tooltips stayed visible all the time until i closed the parent fitting window or the whole application. That's been fixed with your param. :) Thanks! :)

Found an error: Saving as image, EFT does not filter bad characters and trying to save file name as is. In my case it was Hyperion - Hyperion: Ion Test (PvP Setup).jpg and all fitting were saved as "Ion Test (PvP Setup).jpg" stream in file "Hyperion - Hyperion" of zero size. Thanks CCP for cu |

Bug: It is possible to load recon probes into scan probe launcher et vice versa - survey and scan probes into recon launcher.
Please move "Show charge info" down to charges section. So context menu will looks like

EFT comes with two default characters: [Without skills] and [All level V]. It's drone bay should be 175 m3 and not 250 m3. And the CPU is also wrong atm for the ship. On EFT it says i have 812.5 CPU on the ship, but on sisi where i have the ship, i only have 750 CPU.
EDIT: I also think the Shield, Armor and Structure hp's are wrong to.
So just fix the stats
Did you checked your skills before reporting any bugs? [Without skills] character is a (basically) character with minimally acceptable skills to jump in the hull. If any of these skills affecting hull stats, you'll see values different from the raw database ship stats.

EFT says: 10548 armor hp. Sisi says: 11953 armor hp.
EFT says: 12500 structure hp. Sisi says: 13500 structure hp.
EFT says: 7030 capacitor. Sisi says: 6187 capacitor.
EFT says: 650 CPU. Sisi says: 600 CPU.
EFT says: 21000 powergrid. Sisi says: 18600 powergrid.
EFT says: 250 m3 dronebay. Sisi says: 175 m3 dronebay.
So EFT is wrong in most of the stats.
This was with 'Without Skills' on EFT. And the stats from sisi was from a Megathron Federate Issue that wasn't mine, the ship was moved into a trade window so i could just Show Info on the ship.

No-no-no, you got me wrong... I apologize for being unclear. I did made ship active and 38% was readout from fitting screen (the only place where rounding taking place at natural numbers). I guess, that it made such way intentionally, to reduce calculations on the server's end. You can't fly Hulk without Barges 5, so that bonus just made it's way into static EM Shield resist. And no, skill bonuses is not (never) a subject for stacking penalty.
If your explanation would be right, it will be 37.5 + (100-37.5) * (7.5 * <Level> / 100) = 60.9375 exactly. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

The curious thing is that I can import the toons from my other account... but not the first. I've also tried on another pc.. no response, skills stay at 0 0 0 0 0 0 0...

As I'm sure some of you noticed, the character converter at http://eve.rootdir.org/ was not behave nice for some time. Anyway, just letting y'all know that character converter is now back to business, accepting new EVEMon format and running properly (well, at least as good as I expecting it). Please report any issues with it to me ingame. (I expect potential issues with localized characters in names... can't check myself)

User ID =/= your account name. API page on EVE-o giving you not only API key, but also user ID. Check again and fill EFT with proper data. -- Thanks CCP for cu |
