If you look at the recommended specs for this game it is pretty much a list of what my computer has. The only difference is the CPU is recommended at 1.5 ghz and I have 1.6. The game generally runs well for the first 20 minutes or so, and then it starts to get VERY choppy. God forbid I get into a combat situation, the screens refresn about once overy 5 to 10 seconds (makes fighting effectively very very difficult. I'm on a trial account. If the issue is that my system just cant handle the game then I probably wont buy it, (which would make me VERY sad). If however there is something else going on here PLEASE give me your input. I really really want to play this game.
my specs
OS: Windows« System XP CPU: Intel Pentium« IV 1.6 GHz RAM: 1024 MB HD space: 6.0 GB Video: 256 MB GeForce 6500 class Network: Broadband Internet connection

would suggest splashing out on a second HD as the 6GB is way too small, prob what is causing the choppy lag.
So would suggest for a quick fix, get a second HD and install EVE on that, l am sure windows is probably trying to use the HD for its memory needs which is causing the lag as the virtual memory/ system mem is too small so will be reading/writing to the disk quite a lot.
Also if u got the budget build a faster system as P4 1.6 long in the tooth.
Cheap upgrade options r out there on the net easily get a better system for under 200 quid wich would stomp all over ur rig atm.

You will find good hints and tips on how to make your system run better in eve here.
Also make sure you have the latest Graphics card drivers, sound card drivers.
Also try and disabling sound this helps also disable effects and turrent effects by pressing ctrl+shift+alt+E and T to do this.
Try running in window and full mode.
Give your system a good clean up and also look and defragging your hard drive.
Also make sure you are not running unwanted programs in the background.
Hope this helps.

Edited by: CEUOTC on 02/07/2007 21:40:52 Also you may want to ensure your computer is getting cooled properly, clean out any dust in the case, look at the cpu cooler, and any dust on the ram, as this will create hotspots and will cause slow down if the temp gets high enough. oh and also check no dust build up on the Graphics card HSF ect.
Ensure no cables are impeding the airflow through the case ideally u want air to be sucked in from the front and expelled out the rear top.
sure others have some ideas also.
