Education and training is a key to success in RL. How about in EVE? SP is an important attribute, but what if you that high SP person in you're corp/alliance doesn't have much small group experience or the lower SP pilot has all the wrong setups. Maybe they don't catch on to communications or tactics. How 0.0 works before they join an alliance? If you could get a pilot who is ready for combat, and fights effectively, can lead a group and can also operate solo would you pay for him/her? What about an industrial player who has experience in mining, production, and has had access to building strategies from the start? Hauling? Research? Whatever?
I remember seeing a couple of e-mails and posts of corps that offered money to pilots to join them whether or not they were skilled. Like I said SP is a good method of hiring but sometimes there needs to be a base level of skill. One could join a training corporation to attain training and then to be sold to the corp that needs them the most. What if you have people already in your corp that need training? Why not send em out for a while.
The biggest problem... Who's training is the best. Suggestions? I have some ideas. I know some people who have some ideas too.
Ill elaborate more once I've done some more discussions/brainstorming.

Before someone hits me with a link to eve university, let me remind you im just asking if someone would pay for it. Maybe it could be a viable market?

Edited by: Curzon Dax on 03/07/2007 08:44:12 If you want to learn to play Eve, check out Eve University.
1. Go to "People and Places."
2. Select "Corporation"
3. Search "Eve University"
You can join for free, and quite often get free ships and mods. They offer regular classes in all aspects of Eve life, and are quite a useful tool for learning the basics.
*EDIT* DOH!

The main problem I can see with this plan is that people who need help are more likely to be poor.

Well the market I had envisioned is I train pilots and sell them to corps for money. But it needs work to ensure it's done fairly and with some security, too. I like the eve university feel, but maybe I'm a more "Community College" guy. We'll see.

I want to make sure I understand this.
You will allow me to join your corp for free (Thanks!), train me, then sell me to another corp?
OK, fine, but, umm, what's in it for me?

Nothing as far I can see. She/he gains profit from selling you to a alliance/corp which can use you. You gain nothing, well maybe getting more experience.
As for the OP's idea. I think no one would let themself exploited in that way, if they only gain experience, become better at certain things, then they should rather join EVE University rather then let someone getting more rich at the expense of them. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many

It looks like it's based on the football transfer system, which is an entertaining idea but probably unworkable.

Supply the pilots with their material needs during this time. Perhaps limit it to T1, at least mod-wise. Also let them tag along on a few lvl 4's (perhaps that would do for their material needs if they can grabs some loot/sal). I'd probably do it for that and the experience. ------ --Don't get saucy with me Bernaise!-- |

Iv been around in EvE for a few Years and I will still say Agony Unleashed has the best PvP - 0.0 training. They have courses that cover basic frigate flying to Covops classes (which are excellent). They offer there courses to any1 that meets the basic requirements. Takes a little bit more to join the corp but there a great bunchand will certainly help you on that aspect of things.

just join a decent corp or alliance..
Ive been in RDEX and .EXE for 5 days and have learned more about the game then I have in nearly 2 years (probably the reason why I left so many times...)
I made it out to 0.0 because of them, I have more money then I have ever had because of them, and I know what I need to train to become a valuable member of the team.
It doesnt really matter what you can and cant do in EVE, the 6 day old character who can Mine is just as valuable as the 4 year old character whos there to protect him.

I've acquired new players into my corporation by buying them skillbooks... but that was another corporation, another time. I'd still do it, but I got macros to harass. --gordo |
